Also, I make my haleem with oatmeal and make it very thin in consistency.
Salans, I don't use more than 1 tbsp of oil.
Eat only one roti or one cup of khichri with salans.
Eat a garden salad before the actual meal
drink 2 cups of water before meals.
I have lost 30 lbs while eating a lot and feeling good because I have been eating every 2 hours and my eating plan includes lots of fruits and raw vegetables as snacks in between meals. This keeps me full so I avoid stuffing my face at mealtimes.
I want to lose 10 more lbs to be at my pre-foodobsession phase.

Awesome! I looked into making haleem with oakmeal. We bought stuff for it the day before. I saw the recipe on moomal's page.
I have a quick question. I am on a diet as well and eating bland chicken was not motivating me.
I have cut down on rice, pasta, roti and bread, fizzy drinks, juices, desserts.
I am having eggs and a fruit for breakfast,
first snack is 2 fruits (either banana and an apple, or an apple and an orange),
full-fat yogurt or milkshake (banana and milk with a pinch of sugar) for my second snack
and for lunch & dinner I either have salad or I cook vegetables (capsicum and/or carrots) with my chicken.
However to give my chicken more flavor I boil it first and then I kind of cook/stirfry it with some yougurt, spoon of garlic/ginger paste, lemon juice and then either a little bit of red pepper and lots of black pepper or I cook it in tikka boti/tandoori masala..
Question is -- will stir frying the chicken with the ingredients mentioned above hinder the purpose of my diet? if I do the math and get an approx amount of calories, etc. it seems fine to me.. its under my calorie count but I am very new to this and would like to know - need to shed weight by december
I end up not eating desi stuff. I went to the low-calorie American meals with spices. Stuff like low-fat chicken chilli beans instead of roti and etc. I end up losing 12 lbs in 3 weeks. Got a book from the local library on low-calorie dinners and end up using it.

The one thing that i have found works great is tracking your calorie in-take. Use a calorie counting app like myfitnesspal and track all your food. That tells you exactly how many calories you are eating and where you need to improve.

I remember you using shakes. Are you still doing them?

Another update: Still carrying on with the plan. I am following the CICO plan (Calorie in calorie out) and have lost 21 pounds to date.
Dears, I seriously thought about loosing weight too but then I feel bad for all the insects waiting for me in grave. Why should i deprive them of the meat off of a 5 muun ke laash? What have they done to deserve this punishment of eating only bones and no meat. If that is the case then what would be the difference between them and an average pakki? I cannot put them on a diet plan just so I can live a bit better. Naa rey baba naa.

On my 32 day of no sugar. It has calmed/altered my mind/thinking in ways I never thought possible. There are days I really miss it, but the benefits are far greater. It has helped me with hypoglycemia and cravings. Of course, I have long ways to go.
I don't think I have lost any weight, but did lost some inches. I am not really watching my caloric intake to lose the weight. However, the non-physical changes are what is keeping me going.

We have been fighting fat for no reason, carbs are the main culprits and best to change the lifestyle. The rule is half plate vegetables, quarter meat and quarter starch. We should get 5 to 10 servings of vegetables. We should look at glycemic index of food and anything that spikes insulin is high glycemic. Many girls don't do resistance exercise. For a man the carb intake should be 45 grams of carbs per meal. If you are going to eat roti then dont eat daal, chawwal, channa or any other grain in the same meal. I got big bags of green beans and mixed beans and I eat a lot of those with my meal. We should be walking 10000 steps a day. Maybe get a fitbit. Sugar is not as big a problem as roti or chawwal.
I do have a fitbit, keeps me motivated to secretly compete with my friends :D Roti and chawal are next. I have to get back into resistance training as well, it did work wonders.

Good for you, lean red meat has great satiety factor, keeps you full for a long time. String beans are very filling. Don't cut out the grains. Just limit them and eat whole grains. Muscle mass speeds up the metabolism.
