Good captaincy from KA by sending Faisal to open to give him some more confidence, he is showing that unlike Moyo he is not lakeer kaa faqeer and can think outside the box.
He, can be solution to a lot of Pak's problems from opening in all 3 forms of game to captaincy. One day people will realize that, but i am worried it might be too late by then

Yes - very intelligent, he should send Misbah 1 down as well to give more face time to both...
and then Umar to follow. I think Pakistan should get another quickfire 100 odd runs to add to the lead and set a target of around 350. Thus try to make a game of an impossible 3 dayer such as this.

I'm impressed with his captaincy. He should be given a chance in a match to see how he deals with players.

I think the idea to bowl Farhat was Waqar's...during commentary in the NZ series he mentioned that Farhat was a bowling option with his part time leg spin.,...Waqar is already with the team in Aus as the bowling coach and he may have given Akmal the idea to bowl Farhat so that he could be used during the test series on a part time basis.
Anyways, Kamran has a good head on his shoulders....Captaincy would be a good idea for him but probably not till the WC is over.

^^ Yeah - I don't think he has a chance to be skipper right now, since MoYo is well needed in the side unless God forbid he is injured or sick, and with him still fit Akmal wouldn't get a chance just yet.

Does Pakistan have a middle order option? To Misbah or not to Misbah - that is the question for Pakistan in the next Test match at Melbourne.
Did anyone notice that Malik was not given a chance in this warm up match - I guess he is such an outstanding player and in so much good form that he doesn’t need any practice…

^^ Practice is only for losers and marginal players like Kamran and Umar Akmal. Real stars don't need practice.
Malik is probably busy writing love letters to Sayali Bhagat :D
On a serious note tho..with Misbah continuing his downward spiral to retirement, Malik may get a look in at the number 6 position - which would be pretty sad considering his lack of ability.
With Younis out, Yasir Hameed would have been a good bet...he could bat at 3, followed by Yousef, Umar and Faisal dropping to 6.
As dicey as Bhanja is...he is still a better test player than Malik.

Overall a decent performence by Pakistan. Poor stuff from Misbah and Umer Gul. I really like the battle for the #6 batting position between Misbah, Malik and Fawad. Unfortunetly...I dont have a good feeling about Faisal Iqbal batting at #3...Moyo really needs to act like a senior player and bat at #3 and lead by the front and let Faisal bat at #5.
