Re: Pakistan vs Tasmania, Dec 19-21, Hobart.

At stumps Pak 270/4

Re: Pakistan vs Tasmania, Dec 19-21, Hobart.

Salman Butt 153

Re: Pakistan vs Tasmania, Dec 19-21, Hobart.

Butty boy got 150 but Misbah unlucky again - out on 43....

Re: Pakistan vs Tasmania, Dec 19-21, Hobart.

150 from an opener. wow. :k:

Over 33.2: MacDonald to Farhat, no run, OUT, caught on the crease pushing neither forward or back, takes a thin edge to the keeper. First breakthrough for the homeside, a solid 69 run opening partnership

That is 'fishing' too.

Over 73.2: MacDonald to Misbah Ul-Haq, no run, OUT, drives straight to Bailey at shortish cover

That is not being 'unlucky', it was his own undoing (playing uppish shot. Though side-matches should not be the yard-stick but these two shouldn't be really in the team IMO.

Look at Butty's dismissal:

Over 86.2: Geeves to Butt, no run, OUT, short of a length, moving away, draws a loose shot from Butt, flashing away at one he could have left alone, takes a thin edge through to Paine

He is doing the same thing he does everytime to get out... fishing outside off

Re: Pakistan vs Tasmania, Dec 19-21, Hobart.

And what has come over Umar Akmal? Only 10 runs in 52 balls?

Re: Pakistan vs Tasmania, Dec 19-21, Hobart.

Pak: 350/6
Akmal on 27

Re: Pakistan vs Tasmania, Dec 19-21, Hobart.

Kamran Akmal, blistering century!

Re: Pakistan vs Tasmania, Dec 19-21, Hobart.

great finish at the end courtesy Kamran Akmal's 109 with a strike rate of 139. Hopefully he can continue his form throughout the series as well. As an overall score 437 aint all that bad either at the end of day 1.

Gul again was useless with the new ball...looking lacklustre and leaking boundries...Rauf was nice and tight and Aamir picked up a wicket in his first over.

Waqar needs to work on Gul big time.

What a great start on the tour of Australia by the 'World Champions'.

Butt with a big century, followed by another century by screaming Akmal.

With a solid openers (Farhat & Butt), than to be followed by the likes of screaming Akmal & his brother Pakistan will no doubt have a solid batting line up.

Best chance for the 'World champions' to win their first ever test series in Australia. They won't get a better chance than this.

'Jeetay Gah Bey Jeetay Gah Pakistan'.

Re: Pakistan vs Tasmania, Dec 19-21, Hobart.

Good show from the team (somewhat, but not a consistent batting display as far as middle order was concerned)...

Tasmanian Tigers on the run..

132/6 - 2 each for Rauf, Aamer, and Ajmal.. Last day remains...

Achawwwwwwwww!!? :D

I was being easy on him, seems like he is not finding is groove or whatever he needs to score some big runs, a big 50 ateast in the next game to make his presence count....

Re: Pakistan vs Tasmania, Dec 19-21, Hobart.

^ I know, middle order isn't doing much. 40 odd runs from a middle order batsman is not good enough. Misbah needs to step up and play long innings. He's too careless.

Re: Pakistan vs Tasmania, Dec 19-21, Hobart.

well we hope the team does well against the aussie too........ :D

Did anyone notice ex-Australian test player Paul Reiffel (took 104 wkts in 35 tests) is one of the umpires in this game
