If there is one true flat track bully in this team it has got to be Salman Butt and in Abu Dhabi he will perform on dead tracks. Wait till Pakistan tours, England or Australia.

^ He also had a lot of 100's without the 1 in England. His hundred in Australia is going to haunt us for the rest of eternity. :)

Well untill some darn good left hander appears from the U-19 or Academy teams, we will be dealing with Butt.

I have a lot of regard for Aamir Sohail. He was one of the best ODI openers we had, not a very good test batsmen.

I'm a Salman Butt supporter. I think he has serious potential; I'm glad Nazir made the cut. Now we just need to put Hasan Raza/Asim Kamal/or Faisal Iqbal in the fifth spot and we're set for the years to come. Here's my playing eleven:

1) Nazir
2) Butt
3) Hameed (Younis when he returns to the side)
4) Yousuf
5) Malik (Raza/Kamal/Iqbal when PCB wakes up)
6) Afridi
7) Alam (I've had enough of Razzaq)
8) Akmal
9) Gul
10) Najaf (Samiullah Khana when PCB wakes up)
11) Asif

Salman Butt and Imran Nazir are a good opening pair (I know they are ghisaypitay called back players) but I hope they get a long run as Ehsan Bhai pointed out England series.

Here are few more key factors, Inzi and Younis were key players (not talking about batting) when I comes to fielding in the slips, maybe one of the best in the world, now all of a sudden we will see new faces in the slips, but will they catch everything coming their way? so who will it be this time (Butter fingers) :halo:

I have faith in Raza and Iqbal for sure. Kamal may be a test specialist.

Thats only for home series. SC will select playing 11 at home. Not away series. Lets see.

Ok his Test average was 35.xx after 47 tests
while his ODI average was 31.xx afer 100+ ODIs

Butt is at 29.xx avg. after 14 Tests,
and 31.xx in ODIs...

So in all honesty we only rank Aamir Sohail better because he was part of our glamorous team back in the 90s. And don't get me wrong I also, have Aamir and Saeed in mind when I think openers...

^^ I think it was the partnership of Saeed Anwar and Aamir Sohail that get the best out of them. They were a good opening pair.

Lets hope they can give Butt & Nazir a long run since they cut out Hameed as a middle order batsman.

That's the hope that for the 3 ODI against SL at least we have the same opening pair, regardless of who they choose to open. And I think that MoYo should come 1 down and Malik as 2 down. Fawad Alam as 3 down.

Oh no another useless Tour to put the farce performance of the recent WC behind. yo just give 'em flat wickets so they can prove us how they r capable to cross the magical 200 barrier against a top ranked team.

When Pak touring any country with Grassy & Bouny Pitches next ..... 2010 ????

Same old people....always make their way back. The guy who I feel sorry for is Yasir Arafat. They took him to the World Cup and didnt play him in a single game...instead preferring the has-been known as Azhar Mahmood : Then they drop him from the side without him even getting a chance to show what he can do. In the Champions trophy...they played him in 1 game only and even in that one...he top scored for Pakistan on that seaming track against South Africa..where the other so-called 'superstars' flopped miserably.

He's been Kent's best player for a few seasons now - yet he still doesent get a chance to show what he can do for Pakistan...instead Sallu went for one mediocre club cricketer in Hafeez and one guy who has been in the team only because of past reputation for the last 12 months - Abdul Razzaq.

Crappy selection by Sallu - who will no doubt better Baris record of being the worst Chief Selector ever.
