Pakistan VS South Africa - ODI series.

PCB should have proper warning label:

"Captaincy of Pakistan Cricket Team May Be Injurious to Your Health"

Yes we will, matches at Pindi are always full.

So who is going to lead the team in the absence of inzi and yoyo?
[/QUOTE]

Both Inzi and Yoyo are expected to play.

The lights at Pindi stadium are not that good. The crowd sections were not lit up. The whole focus of the lights was on the ground. Poor spectators sitting in the dark. Spock, take notice, shift to lahore, we have proper lights there. :p

Is there a way to file petition to remove Hafeez? This guy is proving to be Afridi.... useless, and actually worse in batting. He should be rested in next game. If Inzimam and Youhanna come back then Faisal and Naved will sit and instead of Shabbir bring Razzaq.

I hope this team does not crack under pressure as there will be a lot of it on Sunday.

I don't agree. I think Hafeez is worth his place as a bowler. I think the South Africans have had more trouble with him and Malik than our 3rd seamers. Afridi couldn't bowl as accurately and that's important in ODI's.

As a batsman I don't think he's good enough so he shouldn't be opening. He missed the ball 3 times when trying to cut Nel and then ended up getting out on the 4th attempt. Not the mark of a good player.

Xtreme bhai, on his last tour to south africa in oneday series , Afridi tied SA batsman very well more than Hafeez did. And his scores were better!!

I am not saying Afridi is the only choice, i m saying IF they want a sixth bowler, Afridi is a better choice in current form.

saby yaar, I think Hafeez has more control than Afridi who as a leggie tends to pitch the odd bad delivery which relieves pressure on the batsmen.

As batsmen they are both not up to the mark although on these tracks I think Afridi would probably perform better, i'm pretty sure all his best scores have been in subcontinent or Sharjah.

well, when I mentioned Afridi it was not for his bowling capabilities, but due to the fact that both of them are all rounder and the reason of persisting with them is/was due to their bowling skills.

if Hafeez's bowling is really to be utilised then keep him as specialist bowler instead of wasting opening slot.

does any one know where's SALEEM ELAHI- He can be a big help here

guess What i'm watching the replay, of the match.

I can't believe Hafeez is still on the team,, I mean how many times has this guys struggled. It is getting outta hand. Toss Yunis Khan in there too. Maybe the heat is getting to them. Time to sit these guys for a few matches.

you will only be hurt...

After watching the whole match, what can I say, our batsmen handed the oposition the victory.
It was bad deliveries from Andre Nel which took out both Younis Khan and Hafeez but not to forget the brilliant catch by Boucher, one of the best I have seen in a long time.
Hafeez is worse then Afridi, I just can't see why he is still in the team, if we are looking for 6th bowler/batsman then for godsakes bring back Afridi.
And the sending of Faisal Iqbal to #3 was very idiotic of Youhana, if you have scored 7 half centuries in your last 8 games in 3rd position, then why in the world would you do anything to change that.
The atmosphere was amazing in the 2nd inning, its been a long time since I have seen a cricket match take place in Pakistan, and the crowd behaved nicely.

:k:

Opening an inning is not easy job, it requires concentration and it shape the whole course of the innings. We failed so many times because PCB thinks they can make Hafeez a great opener by keep giving him a chance but they must understand that not every player can become opener.
We need solid opening pair and I think Yasir Hameed and Younis Khan will be a perfect pair. (Yasir @1 and Youis @2)
Some of you are probably wondering why Younis Khan, first of all he can play under pressure and he has lots of experience. It will be a lethal combination, they will complement each, Yasir has ability to dominate (attack) while Younis is bit defensive.
First 15 overs in ODI can decide the course of the match and most team tries to have a decent score at the end of 15th, take advantage of fielding restriction. It give opener confidence and remove pressure from the middle order.
But for some strange reason our opener play like they are playing test match, for example, hafeez in 20 minutes, played 20 balls but only score 1 run. Hafeez is a decent bowler but he hasn't capitalized on opportunities, he is not opener I don't understand why PCB keep trying him. If PCB wants to keep him let him come at 6 or 7 spot until he become a mature player otherwise there are some many better players in domestic cricket who can replace him.

I agree with you, Faisal Iqbal can't play @ 3; he has always choked @ 3.
I think Youhana should play @3, for ODI Shoaib Malik or Afrid @4 and Inzi @ #5.

Actually the reason Afridi was struggling as an opener because he had some technical flaw in this batting which he corrected but he is not #1 or #2 guy. To be honest with you he will probably struggle just like Hafeez unless Javid Mianded can help him. I personally think Afridi can come back as a support bowler and middle order batsman but not as an opener because he can't play under pressure.

they should try him at no. 6 or 7, he might be useful. and abt his batting, i think javed miandad will take care of that. now the problem is who is gonna bring him back in the team without performance?

imran farhat has been recalled for 5th odi, razzaq and inzi fot for the last odi!
