I think the series is wide open now, both teams are closely matched but we'll need both Yoyo and Inzi playing to win. Razzaq was also a big miss today, his bowling isn't great but we need his destructive batting at the end of an innings.
Hafeez should be played as a spin bowler but not asked to open the batting, I think someone like Younis or Rashid should be asked to do it.
yeah for keeping on the bowling of Sami and Shoaib.. we need all te Duh's of the world..
give me a break...

Tufeeq came as a back up for latif, he was wicket keeping in the WC also.
Sami shoaib don't matter. the guy know how to keep man. what are talking about.

SA only made 158 in 38.5 overs.

Bcz that was the target, duh!
The team chasing a target pace their innings accordingly. This doesn't prove anything. But, yes... if Pakistan had a higher score things may have been different... no doubt. Thanks for reminding us :)
I think we are too critical of our team. Before the start of this tournament many of us would have settled for a 2/2 position with one to play. SA was the overwhelming favourite to run away with the series. Pakistan played brilliantly in the first two ODI's lost the momentum during the third and were outplayed today. Overall not a bad performance.
My prediction is that if we score 260/270 we will win the final. This SA outfit cannot score that many runs and even today if they had faced a total of 250 they would have struggled. In today's match in two consecutive overs of Shabbir, Kallis and Gibbs were dropped. You have to field better and hold your catches agaisnt such quality opposition.
So take heart, all is not lost. We might yet win the series. The team has performed wonderfully well and apart from a few palyers like Hafeez and a lacklustre Rashid, the rest have performed admirably.

Faisal, i know that was the target. but they cud have done it in lesser overs, with a better RR. instead they did in 40 overs. with RR that is ok for pakistan to chase.

Well, I think momentum is important. If Pakistan had lost the first two and won the last two, things would have looked slightly better.
Then again, the main problem was we had too few runs on the board, to defend. I am not sure if merely placing the blame on Hafeez is going to work. When I look at the score card, several things seem wrong. It seems FOUR of our top SEVEN batsmen failed. :(
Pakistan innings (50 overs maximum) R M B
Mohammad Hafeez c Boucher b Nel 1 22 20
Yasir Hameed c Boucher b Hall 30 82 51
Faisal Iqbal c Hall b Nel 0 8 4
*Yousuf Youhana c Pollock b Nel 60 102 75
Younis Khan c Boucher b Nel 13 41 36
Naved Latif b Pollock 4 23 10
Shoaib Malik b Ntini 5 18 11
+Rashid Latif b Kallis 18 42 37
Shoaib Akhtar c Boucher b Ntini 0 2 2
Mohammad Sami not out 16 47 33
Shabbir Ahmed b Ntini 2 12 7
Extras (lb 2, w 6) 8
Total (all out, 47.4 overs, 204 mins) 157

That's right. I think at full strength we will have a great chance of wrapping up the final. We just need to tinker with the strategy a bit. Although I have been critical of Hafeez as a batsman, he has generally bowled well and I think he and Shoaib malik will play a big part with the ball on Sunday.
