why is sami not in the team> we have too many all rounders in the team today, only 2 pure bowlers! i dont like this combination!

I think if it wasn't for Imran Nazir, our batting line would have crumbled :)

Our middle order often needs a flying start from the openers to deliver... it's all in the mind and that is how their pysche` work .. or so I have perceived :)

What a great batting performence!! Hats of to Imran Nazir who played his innings with so much confidence. With the early loss of Akmal, Nazir still played his attacking game and took the attack to SA which forced them to be on the backfoot which helped Younis, Yousuf, and Afridi

And what can you say about Afridi. Since I saw him in the first game and the 20/20 I could tell he is here to prove a point. The josh is back in his game. His aggresivness is back how it used to be and thats when he's most effective. Over the last while, he was very quiet and subdued in the field and wasnt performing at all. But he's back with a bang hopefully he'll do a decent job with the ball as well.

We have Sami in the team..not sure 350 would be enough :-D Afridi and Shoaib malik will need to perform with the ball. Sami and Razzaq should try not to get spanked too much. Rana should focus on the ball rather than style, jump and swinging down the leg side. I hope cheeta Asif gives us a good start.

Have a cup of coffee first, Sami is not playing today. Chacha Rana will be leading the attck with Asif, Razzak and Azhar Mahmood.

Do some of you wonder why Afridi wasn’t selected for ODI against the WI in Pakistan last month?

I think that axe did him well. He was looking increasingly disinterested then.

Today, after a LONG LONG time, Afridi looked like the consistent player of 2005. Now only if Inzi and Bob dont screw with his order and save him for these overs.

Yousuf was pure class. His tuk tuk between 35th and 40th over, got me worried but Afridi really woke him from slumber and he played some of the most gorgeous strokes today.

this 50 by afridi was the second fastest 50 in ODI. fastest was off 19 balls by boucher against Kenya.

The fastest ODI 50 is Jayasuriya in 17 balls against Pak. Shahid Afridi, during his fastest 37 ball 100, crossed 50 on 18th ball.

This just puts into perspective how important the openers are. Today instead of having Hafeez jumping around trying to get bat on ball or Farhat with edges flying all over the place, we had a confident and aggressive start by Nazir. So the bowling was on the backfoot from the word go. Usually they are pumped up by having a few easy wickets by the time our middle order gets in.

Also, the Inzi/Woolmer combo seriously screwed up by not batting first in the 1st ODI. Fielding first was a knee jerk reaction to a meaningless 20/20 game.

chalo aik aur aaya. Idhar hum khush ho rahay hain k sami isnt playing aur aap un ko miss ker rahay hain?

I kinda like this line up but lets see how it fares.

^ well given our PURE bowlers like Sami and Rana usually get a royal hiding or are flying back home unfit, I would rather have bowlers like Razzaq, Mahmood who can contribute by batting. Btw, best bowling figures were by Afridi in the last game.

TV footage showed that Afridi swung his bat towards a fan as he climbed up the stairs leading to the pavilion, the Beeld newspaper reported. It's believed that the spectator had shouted something at Afridi which angered the him.
