Pakistan vs NZ - 3rd ODI @ Abu Dhabi - Monday, Nov. 9, 2009

Dont waste your Bata and Service juttay on these fools. They need cheaper priced juttay. Yehei hain inki aukaat. Lunda Bazaar walay juttay.

Cricinfo:

"Younis perished next ball, stabbing a bouncing delivery from Shane Bond to first slip and exposed an edgy middle-order, which lacked the cool head of Mohammad Yousuf, who had been dropped for Umar Akmal. The line-up was full of attacking batsmen but, as they showed in the last game, they were likely to collapse under pressure. Only Shoaib Malik had the temperament to fight but he was guilty of playing the worst shot of all. Pakistan were wobbling at 74 for 3 when Kyle Mills bowled a few short balls at Malik, who ducked out of the way. Suddenly, in a moment of madness, he fetched a short delivery from well outside off and hit it straight to deep midwicket."

Cant stress anymore. When will Pakistan Team management (including Younus Khan learn). Of course there is no guarantee that Yousuf would have scored but not having him in the team was wrong in first place!

Yes not having yousuf was wrong but not including a talented player like Umar Akmal is also criminal. I am a strong critic of Malik as a test player but at the same time accept that he is a very useful ODI player. Currently we cannot afford to drop any of these 3 from our middle order.

Younis's form with the bat has been pathetic this year. As I have said earlier as well, how can someone justify a spot in the team when he has scored 420 runs in 19 ODIs with an average of 22. While on the crease he slows down the run rate so much so that you start praying for his dismissal.

I don't know what to say in this situation. Ideally a batsman which such a form should be dropped. The only reason he is still playing with his horrible form with the bat is because he is the captain. If it is really important to accomodate him in the side then I guess they could have played without Salman Butt and sent Kamran Akmal as an opener.

Aamir & Ajmal :salute: :jhanda:

Re: Pakistan vs NZ - 3rd ODI @ Abu Dhabi - Monday, Nov. 9, 2009

^ I totally agree. you can not and should not drop one of

Yousuf, Shoaib and Umer

Afridi and Akmal are also automatic choice because of their dual roles

Ajmal, Aamir, Gul are also automatic choice because of bowling.

Pick 1 from Razzaq or Asif depending on the pitch

and that leaves us with 2 spots. Ideal condition is that Younus is performing well so we select younus and 1 regular opener. Kamran, Shahid and Shoaib can open with him but with Younus's current form, I'd even have him as non-playing captain !

Re: Pakistan vs NZ - 3rd ODI @ Abu Dhabi - Monday, Nov. 9, 2009

I guess we should look forward to test cricket and hope yousuf plays in all 3 test matches.

I guess this will probably will be the lineup for tests:

  1. Salman Butt
  2. Khurrum Manzoor
  3. Younis Khan (capt)
  4. Mohammad Yousuf
  5. Umar Akmal - but I think they'll put Shoaib Malik here.
  6. Kamran Akmal (wk)
  7. Mohammad Aamer
  8. Umar Gul
  9. Saeed Ajmal/Razzaq/Naveed
  10. Mohammad Asif
  11. Danish Kaneria

The problem that is causing the headaches is that Shoaib Malik has refused to open the batting any longer.

First of all i think that was just a news paper statement and he will open the inning if asked and if not even then Akmal or Afridi can open ....

The 10th wicket partnership of A&A was just played like on the lines of this vid:

Re: Pakistan vs NZ - 3rd ODI @ Abu Dhabi - Monday, Nov. 9, 2009

wow... how good is this Amir guy...

awful display by the rest of the team though barring Amir and Saeed Ajmal... no disrespect to NZ but I still think their team is not one of the top teams in the world. they're a very mediocre team and if Pakistan can't even beat them then there are tough times ahead for us...

Re: Pakistan vs NZ - 3rd ODI @ Abu Dhabi - Monday, Nov. 9, 2009

Well played NZ :k:

Re: Pakistan vs NZ - 3rd ODI @ Abu Dhabi - Monday, Nov. 9, 2009

Hats off to Aamer and Ajmal for making a match out of nothing. It was heroic stuff and they both represented the same fighting spirit that won us the T20.

Abysmal performance by the top and middle order. They actully looked like they cant score even if their lives depending on it.

Re: Pakistan vs NZ - 3rd ODI @ Abu Dhabi - Monday, Nov. 9, 2009

Wonder what both of them are thinking -
Let me try and guess:
Younis:* haan mujhay aamer say open karana chaheeyay…*
Farhat: younis bhai kay bachon kay leeyay gift dubai anay say pehlay dena chaheeyay tha…

Re: Pakistan vs NZ - 3rd ODI @ Abu Dhabi - Monday, Nov. 9, 2009

:hehe:

LOL@Imran Farhat. The only reason Imran Farhat is in the team is cuz of his father-in-law Mohammad Ilyas who is now a member of the PCB Selection Committee.
