Pakistan Vs. England

Waqar had no focus ... :-( Well, I am still hopefull we can make this score.

:hehe: Well the difference is that England does not have Lee, Gillespie, and McGrath to destroy the batting. It will be OK.

Maybe they should change the captain after the first 30 overs...

there's one other difference as well. we don't have Hayden, Grilchrist, Ponting and Martyn.

246/8 (50 Overs)

Anyone know if the over rate was slow enough to penalize two overs or not?

I'm still having a hard time believing that Englang scored 250 against us.

Waqar has disappointed with his captaincy yet again.
[/QUOTE]

come on guys, evrytime Waqar made a bowling change, it worked. He got a wicket. IF shoaib was expensive today, not his fault. I think he tried his best today. Made effective bowling changes. You dont like Waqar, thats your problem bu ti think he was bette rtoday. Kindly explain one tacticial blunder he made . The only one i can think of is perhaps continuing with shoaib in the end, he could have finished earlier with Afridi but had afridi gone for a few uns, you would have demanded Waqar's head for not bowling Shoaib at the death!!

Shoaib to Ramiz Raja, right after the match, commenting on this huge achievement of bowling the fastest ball...

Thanks to Allah for this achievement. I told my manager Im going to do that after the 2nd over... I didnt bowl like I should have... Its a good batting track, the ball is coming to the bat, and our batsmen should do well chasing this...

Saby, wesay one thing is for sure, he himself provided the initial breakthroughs, and got Shaoib off in the beginning, a wise move, but later on, he made some quick decisions, which didnt turn out right...

Ok lad can we stop this trash about India/Paksitan and concentrate on the match.

England 246/8, a reasonable score which if Pakistani batsmen put their heads down should be able to get to it.

Congratulations to Pindi express for yet again breaking the 100 barrier and getting the vital wicket of Vaughan when it really mattered.

Akram will have to wait till the match with Holland to get his 500th wicket.

** Go Pak Go**

Stop taking pride in stupid thing like Fastest Ball.Fastestball doesnt win matches. At the end he conceded 64 in 9 overs.Given a choice I wold prefer Chris Harris oh 10-1-32-1 in a team than Fastest bowler who goes for 64 in 9 overs... huh huh

Anyway I hope Pakistan Manages 247. :)

England have set a very challenging total of 246 which will not be easy in the blustery wind and under lights for Pakistan

I still think Pak can achieve it, because England bowling is very weak.

I just dont get it, why people are criticizing Waqar ? He himself bowled well today made the right bowling changes.

Afridi recorded his best bowling figures in World Cup  Congratulations to him, he bowled much better than some overly hyped bowlers.

AQ man - You are just jealous. :hehe:

what the flux has Shoaib's 100 mph done for us? it is time that these professionals got their priorities straight. If it was Brett Lee, Ponting would have dropped him for making those comments. How dare Shoaib rave about his speed after doing **** for the team.

Fair score in the end. should have got closer to the 300 mark cuz the pitch was so good, but they'll still kick some paki butt :)

I just hope Younis doesn't regret not using Elahi - he would've been a proper threat.

The Union Jack boxers have been repacked ....

Well Shoib Says what fans want to hear.Unfortunately most of pakistani fan really think that bowling veryFast is good thing compared to good bowling.I guess they dont know that Pakistan Plays cricket to win matches not because Shoib has to break some stupid speed barrier.

I think we let them off the hook again. They should not have reached 230 after being reduced to 118/5. Some sloppy bowling at the end, especially by Shoaib. Still I think we should get this. Afridi should just go for it, but the rest should look to see off the new ball and then do what England did, make sure we keep wickets intact and it should be no problem. On this pitch we did ok to keep them to less than 250, although it could have been better. It's probably going to be quite close - a good game in prospect methinks...

What's all the lame crap about bad captaincy; he made all the changes at the right time and got important wickets.

England batted very well and despite losing wickets kept their run rate up (taking lessons from the likes of Australia and South Africa). Run rate and good running (quick singles) will be the key for Pakistan along with pinning partnerships around a steady player of the ball.

Overall I thought Pakistan looked the best team in the field I have seen this world cup; athletic, accurate and full of spirit.

Shoaib despite the pacey performance was for me disappointingly expensive and should have only had the one spell.

Great stuff from Wasim, Waqar and Afridi....Saqlain's drifting ball was simply divine.

Well I'll get some biriyani down me and sit back for what should be a thrilling second session.

what a weird match! pakistan on top all day yet scoreboard still shows 246/8!!! how strange! looks like a batting pitch, remember new zealand semi-final in 99? opening pair will be key...
