Re: Pakistan vs England, 1st Test, Multan
A bad day at the office. Our bowlers didn't even show up. No movement with the ball and Trescothick looks unperturbed by our attack. Unless we see quick wickets fall in the morning this could turn out quite embarassing.
The weather forecast is sun for the next few days so forget rain.
Re: Pakistan vs England, 1st Test, Multan
By the way does anyone know who the hell made that huge Union Jack flag being held by PAKISTANI’S in the stadium? Correct me but I thought pakistanis should be supporting Pakistan and not the opposition ![]()
The worst thing is I didn’t see any large pakistani flags ![]()
Re: Pakistan vs England, 1st Test, Multan
Hopefully, the third day will be a little better for Pak. Pakistan bowlers should take advantage of the morning conditions, and should get at least 3-4 quick wickets. If they restrict England lead to 50, then it'll be really good.

That flag surprised me as well. India series was an emotional one hence support to India was really welcome… But… Supporting … Brits…
The people responsible for enslaving us… was tough to fathom..
Re: Pakistan vs England, 1st Test, Multan
Multanis (seraikis) are some of the most hospitable locals of Pakistan, this is just another Seraiki tradition of making their visitors feel at home. Congrats Seraiki Brothers for their great hospitality.
As for no Paki flags, well Pakis sitting in the stadium were ppl of some integrity and felt far too embarassed by their teams performance.
Re: Pakistan vs England, 1st Test, Multan
28 extras, how disgusting, and look at our spinners overstepping :smacking:
253-3
very likely England will go on to score350+ but as soon as our batsmen start playing wicket will be all “alive” again.
Re: Pakistan vs England, 1st Test, Multan
Inzi said in his interview at Geo that they will try to restrict England to 350. I think he was talking about the lead :D
Re: Pakistan vs England, 1st Test, Multan
why not restrict them to 300? or even 275?
Re: Pakistan vs England, 1st Test, Multan
Inzi seems completly lost on the field as a captain, Botham had a few harsh words for Inzi's lacklustre captaincy. Making statements outside the gound have no meaning if the team does not perform, Inzi is preparing for his political entree..
Re: Pakistan vs England, 1st Test, Multan
Our pacers don’t have to bowl the whole day like idiots…rather concentrate on a few devastating spells…then Inzamam could be right…
Spin is not working…9 out of 10 Pak wickets went to English pacers…hmmmmmmm
Re: Pakistan vs England, 1st Test, Multan
Once again, our Cheetah Shoaib bowled his heart out, while the others just threw pies. Anyone now realize why I support his inclusion so badly in test matches? Even on this dead wicket, he was a notch above all the other bowlers. I hope he can get some wickets early tomorrow.
P.S:Sami will never learn. The guy just doesn't think before he bowls. Pie thrower.
Re: Pakistan vs England, 1st Test, Multan
That pie thrower got us early wicket and actually swung the ball which your hero couldnt. You are being slightly unfair to Sami. Yes Shoaib tried, specially in his last spell but to say that others didnt is not fair.
Re: Pakistan vs England, 1st Test, Multan
Pakistan usually plays poorly in the 1st test. That's jsut the way our team is. Bowlers we expected to get wickets are wicketless so far. poor. But inshallah they will bounce back, hopefully.
Re: Pakistan vs England, 1st Test, Multan
Saby, come on! You were watching the match, weren’t you!? Sami was throwing half volleys, short pitches outside offstump, pies, you name it! The guy has no bowling brain whatsoever! Ofcourse, most of you would keep saying that he is a very “talunted cricter”, but since how long have we been hearing that crap? Nonsense, I say!
Re: Pakistan vs England, 1st Test, Multan
^ I am not defending his performance by any means. He was crap, specially in his second spell but who else hasnt?
Re: Pakistan vs England, 1st Test, Multan
shoaib bowled his heart out! very unlucky not to have some luck
Re: Pakistan vs England, 1st Test, Multan
I must have been watching a different match.
Re: Pakistan vs England, 1st Test, Multan
Ehsan bhai, i was watching the match, yes he was not accurate sometimes but that comes down to match practice...im talking about shoaib but he did bowl his heart out and looked like he was going to get a wicket.. you always need some luck to go your way..
If only he can get some more discipline in his bowling! thats a wish that many of us share
Re: Pakistan vs England, 1st Test, Multan
Bhaijan, he did bowl his heart out, but did he get a wicket, No. Even if he would have gotten 5 wickets, people would have said whats the big deal, “baat tu tub hotiee jub chay ya saath out karta”.
There are problems with everyone including shoaib and cricket fans. Shoaib has atttude problems (although Sheheryar khan and inzi openly said last week that shoaib has become a totally different player with a very positive attitude) and the fans have problems of expecting way too much from him. Thats why when he is playing people will say that he is not fit or has attitude problems, when he is bowling well people say that he is not taking wickets, when he is taking wickets people say lets hope he breaks down soon eventhough it will hurt pakitan but will atleast give us a chance to bash him.
Unfortunately we always have double standards. When we talk about openers we say that give shoiab malik a chance, yes he is not an ideal opener but atleast better than the current lot. What they don’t realize is that the same theory can be applied in shoiab’s case. Yes he may not be the best in their view but he is the best in the current lot so stop being so negative, be realistic and appreciate what he can do. For shoaib there is no margin of error but for other players we have all kind of excuses and explanations.
People say that shoaib thinks that he is above the game. I don’t know if he thinks like that or not but surely with this attitude it appears that its the fan who thinks he is above the game of cricket.
