Razzaq blew a big opportunity

Ajmal is a wicket taker and he proved how he is better than Abdur Rehman

Wahab took a great catch..Shoaib might not have even tried to get to that one.

Afridi proved he is 'bowling' first batting second.

Ajmal over Rehman. Ajmal is attacking wicket taker but leaks out runs whereas Rehman is defensive and controls the flow of runs

Pakistan got out of jail today thanks in the main to Afridi's brilliant bowling

I said at the start that Pakistan had a fair if not great chance of progressing to the semis if the batting clicked. Our bowling is still good and among the top 4 bowling attacks in the world incl. SA, Australia and SLA. It has variety and penetraton but the batters have got to give bowlers a fighting chance to defend a total. Pathetic scores of 200 +/- simply won't do against good sides no matter how good your bowling attack is. No one is expecting them to score 300 in every game. A decent 270-280 on a consistent basis will do. It is a lot better than scoring 300+ in one game and 200+/- in the next

Inconsistent batting is essentially what makes us so unpredictable as a team. Yes the players might have been a bit complacent knowing it was only Canada they were playing against today but it is still no excuse for such an unprofessional display with the bat. The shot selection was bad by most incl. Afridi. What if it were against one of the established teams in the QF? A repeat of such abysmal peformance and Pakistan will be surely packing their bags after the game

Harper had a poor day as an umpire. He got atleast 2 decisions wrong. The first one was not reviewed by Gul. Replays showed that Gunasekera was plumb LBW. Thankfully Afridi decided to review the second one and the decision was reversed after UDRS

I am in favour of UDRS because 1 or 2 bad umpiring decisions (whether deliberate/biased or plain human error) can change the course of the game.

I always wondered why Harper is so often allocated to Pakistan matches .....the guy is half blind and yet the ICC has been backing him for so long and one wonders how many matches involving India or England he would officiate with such consistent horrific umpiring

Just hve a look at stats and u'll be astonished how often he officiated matches involving Pakistan.

as usual Pakistan played unexpectedly, since all other teams are aiming for 300+ target whereas our boys even if they score 200 that would be a miracle.

nonetheless, Congratz to everyone :jhanda:, though Pakistan should acknowledge that they are playing World Cup and no team is a minnow.

I seriously think they should drop hafeez and push up Kamran....don't knwo what to do with Shehzad....

Its not that simple. it will also change the balance for bowling combination. Plus both Hafeez and Kamran were in Good form vs SA and NZ. We should give them some more time.

Like wasim said today (more or less) “hafeez and shehzad did well in new zealand, but that is passed. Shehzad saw that it was moving around and he should have played his normal game, let a few go and then wait to hit instead he starting shuffling around, going far down towards leg, and same with hafeez he came out side off, played across the line and got out…”

^ Off course they have not performed well in 3 WC games but then not everyone performers every-time. I hope they click sooner rather than latter but thats the best we can offer in this WC.
