OK Lads, let's keep the thread on track and not get involved in matters other than Pak V Aus.

Exactly, Everyone has to go one day good or bad and you cant treat it as an excuse to your teams pathetic Paerformance.
So, accept the fact that you are up against a very good team (last time they beat you by 9 wickets, with Razzaq and Saqi in the Team))

good line up but again, can you rely on Shoaib Malik and Azhar Mehmood to bowl full quota?I hate to say but we do need afridi.

Imran Nazir will have to be dropped and Afridi dropped down the batting order. Open with Saeed and Malik, even though how Malik will fare when facing the Aussies is another matter.

Yeah, I think this is probably the best lineup available. Nazir will have to sit out. Maybe we should drop Azhar Mahmood for Sami as well. The guy seemed to bowl pretty well. Mahmood's bowling has been pretty disappointing for quite some time now.
Ehsan..you are right Nazir might be dropped even though his perfomace was far better than other batsmen or maybe should I say he was lucky to bat again at the later stage when the tracks were slower.
khair
I thought cricket was famous in Aus but I was wrong..only 11,000 showed up that is really pathetic home support for the World Champs..IF I'm not mistaken even bangladesh draws 30 thousand fans. , this is what I call loyalty
Yes you are right, but Azhar is a better batsmen and the way we bat sometimes, we need all the help we can get.

umm very interesting point raised..Azhar can't bat anymore and he proved that in his short county stint and past ODI's. HIs bowling was very dissappointing and why not replace him with a much quicker ,better bowler Muhammed SAmi.
We might lose our depth in batting but what the heck ..if our frontline batsmen fail then its highly doubtful Azhar Mehmood will make any difference..
Wasim Akram
Waqar Younis
Shoaib Akhtar
Muhammed Sami
wow thas a ferocious attack!
These bowlers will be supported by the two spinners
Shoaib Malik
Afridi

Precisely my point! Azhar is not a matchwinner with the bat like Razzaq has proven to be often. Whatever remains of him is at best a supporting act well suited for playing cameos at the end of the innings but he can't come in and sense the situation and play accordingly.
Therefore, Ehsan I suggest we make him sit out and field Sami instead. This means that even if the W's fail, we have a very good backup plus the pressure on Afridi and Malik will be reduced. Now this is all to assume that Akhtar is God-forbid match fit.
Guys don't bring India in this thread.
Ehsan, yes there were mistakes that our batsman made but at the same time it was the disciplined bowling from Australia that made way for players like Inzi, Khan, Youhana and others to loose wickets, so credit must go to them. But people here in this form are thinking about changing their nationalities to Indian just because Pakistan played one poor game, and some are threatening to kill Afridi for getting out, no one in here realizes that it was a teamwork, and score like 176 is not that bad compared to other innings we have had in the past 3 years against Australia.
I agree with AQ here when he mentioned that our people praise these players when we go against a weak team like NZ but when we loose one match they start to threatened to kill them, that is extremely pathetic.
Only one match has gone by and idiots have already predicted that our team SUCKS or it was fixed etc.
As far as the squad for the next match, I would take out Azhar, as his bowling and batting has not seemed to improve at all in county cricket, we already have 3 fast bowlers and allronder we have afridi, malik and wasim, so there is no need to have azhar in the squad, Imran Nazir has proved himself to be a quality batsman and did really well in pressure after coming back from hospital and played a brave inning.
1.) Saeed Anwar
2.) Imran Nazir
3.) Yousuf Youhana
4.) Inzimam-ul-Haq
5.) Younis Khan
6.) Shahid Afridi
7.) Shoaib Malik
8.) Rashid Latif
9.) Wasim Akram
10.) Waqar Younis
11.) Shoaib Akhtar/M Sammi
Its going to be shuffle between sami and shaoib, but I'm sure if shoaib is "fit" than he will come in and sami would go out.
Sami's bowling with a new ball is preety average, I don't think he is well suited for one days, he is usually a good swinger of the ball, which might be in test for him.

Umair,
Thanks for appreciating my point.
I would also like to make apoint which I think no one mentioned here.
If 4 australian players can ignore there County commitment and come back to australi to play for country why cant Razzaq and Saqi can do it?
Though I am convinced that even there presence couldnto have made much difference but still this is an issue which needs to eb debated??

I beg to differ with you AQ, Razzaq could have and has made a big difference in many matches. If Razzaq was playing instead of Azhar and a quick fire 50 or 60, which he has made on many occassions could have put Aussies under more pressure.
Secondly, you are saying that Aussie players came back while Pakistani players didnt return. The Australian board compensates them for loss of earnings while PCB doesn't or unable to, and that makes the difference.
Sherry baba and Samb, agre with your point regarding Mahmood.
Umair, I think the point about shooting Afridi was a sarcastic and not a serious or angry comment.

I think whole discussion here is futile becouse we are taking about something imaginary. But my point was when all the established batsmen were struggling to score so Razzaq couldnot really have made a big difference .He would have had the same fate as others.anyway point well taken.

Well then PCB should pay.And if PCB is not able to do that then Players shouldnot be so greedy after all they are playing for nation and anyway they make huge money .One should put natinal intrest first.

Inzamam ul-Haq became the fourth-leading run-scorer in one-day cricket as he scored 33 from 42 balls against Australia on Wednesday for a career total of 8,527 runs.
Inzi, who first emerged on the world stage with his 60 from 37 balls in the World Cup semifinal against New Zealand in 1992, moved past Australia's Mark Waugh, 37, who has 8,500 runs in 244 matches but was not selected for this three-match series.
The 32-year-old Inzi has scored his runs in 266 matches.
I hope he makes 10,000 before he retire.
who are other 3.
I guess Sachin,azhar and Saeed…
Good for asian cricket.
Isn't it wierd that a team ful of young talent comes to Australia, a world champ with only 13 players, also missing two of their top bowlers.(Razzaq, Saqi)
and only 13 people when you bring Akhtar who gets injured every game... and a person recently off the injured team...saeed...not that he is still injured or anything but still...
and also bringing in Mahmood... who hasn't played internatinally for a long time...playing for surrey...
and also two tullas...
raises doubts in my mind....
oh yah and bring in Malik and Sami... to play first class with the best time in the world right now....who don't have much experience...not that its bad...but still
the match is than pretty much left into
waqar, yohana, khan, inzi, latif's hands....pretty much...
The most important player in the Pakistan team who nearly contributes every single time in a Pak vitory is Youhana. If Pakistan wants to make anything out of this series, they need Youhana to hit a purple patch and not an ill-timed sweep shot.
Come on Yousaf, you're the key man!
Andha, whats with that new guppie face? its cool...
My dish-network is working guys... Now I can finally broadcast matches!!!!
