one catch and only one catch, and see the result...
and on top of it it was a sitter even my 7 years old can catch (ok not with hard ball but with tennis ball for SURE)

Don't blame that catch on Pakistan's miserable situation of the past 15 years. If not Ponting, someone else would have done the job and probably faster and Aus would be 375 at end of day 1.
I think Pakistani fans should wipe off any dreams of even drawing this Test after Aus has scored 300 plus in the first innings.
Aus has won the series 3-0 and PCB can go fk off.

Agreed. Pakistan are no match for even the present (decent rather than great) Australian team and there's no way we can avoid a 12th straight test humiliation now

71/3 with Ponting batting is not the same as
71/4 with Ponting gone
Previous Aussie sides had Gilchrist in late-middle order who often rescued them after mini-collapses. This team has no batsman of Gilchrist's calibre after Ponting
Had Ponting not been grassed by Aamer when he was on nought, I doubt that Australia w'd be in such a dominant position at the close
But since our current batters struggle to score even 200 collectively in a test innings, it is purely academic whether Australia are 300 odd for 3 or 300 odd for 7 after day1
I think We still match Australia in bowling but batting is the single most important reason why we fail in Australia. Add to that fielding woes and you have no hope in hell of competing with Aussies..

^ I'd put fielding above batting here. Had we hold onto all those catches, Aus's batting would have looked all shaky as Pakistan's. AUS batsmen gave as many chances as we did, its just that their fielders hold onto chances unlike our fielders.

and this is the worst australian side in 12 years. SA, SL, Eng and India can beat them in test.

well that catch would have put immense pressure on Aussies for sure. Batsman like Ponting only give seldom chances like that.

Kaneria has loads of variety but difference between him and great leg spinners (warne, Qadir) that they used their variations as surprise rather than trying 6 different variations in one over. IT takes the surprise factor out of his bowling.
