Saree saree raat jaag ker match dekhney baithey they, achee umeedon kay saath, achey jazbaat liyey hue, kay chalein aaj achee cricket dekhney ko miley gee, aaj team ki performance pehley sey behtar hogi, aaj pitch mein koi jaan nazar aayegee.........magar nahin, wohi mazaq bana diya hai PCB ney. Eik eik to pakar kay nanga latka kar shooting practice karni chaiye in sub per, jo taangon sey shuru ho aur sar per jaa ker khatam ho.
Eik eik ka bhaija ura dena chaiye. Itni bay-jaan pitch? Meri Dadee Amma nay is pitch per sattar baalon mein century bana deni thee. Jiss kisi nay bhi aisi pitch bananay ka order diya tha, uska sar kaat kar ley aao merey paas. Mein uska bhaija raat kay khaaney mein fry kar kay khaonga. Hudd bhi hoti hai eik baat ki. Saree raat jaag kar, aankhein phaar phaar kar manhoosiat match dekho, phir subah subah itni sardee mein kaam per jao. Kisi sey kisi cheez ka ehsaas nahin hai in zaalimon ko.
Line mein khara kar key eik eik ko shoot kar do. Kisi dosrey ka ehsaas hee nahin hai. Kiya mazaq laga rakha hai? Mein bayaan nahin kar sakta apni halat, aankhein neend sey bojhal ho rahee hain, sirf aur sirf un chund logon ki wajah sey, jo unchee kursion mein baith kar eik haath mein sharaab ki botal aur dosrey haath mein telephone pakrey hue hain, aur order per order diyey jaa rahey hain. Rakh kay zoordaar chaanta maarna chaiye inko, takey inkey hosh thikanay aajaayein. Fitay-moun, poorey test match ka mazaa kirkira kar diya. Laanat hai in chund lamhon ki zindagi per. Ginay chuney lamhaat bhi agar isi mein guzar gaye to beta hum to Allah ko pyaarey hogaye.
Re: Pakistan v/s India 1st Test @ Lahore 13 - 17 jan 06
Sehwag was dropped at least once, off of the bowling of Kaneria, when the ball edged his bat and went onto the slips, where chacha Inzi was standing like a brick wall.
I do seem to recall another very similar incident, where the slip fielder (not sure if it was Inzamam or someone else) failed to grab the ball. I thought it was a harder chance than the first one. Still, that's the count right there. Two of them, if I am not mistaken.
And also, a caught-behind (off of the bowling of Afridi, I believe?) was not given out. The replays showed that the ball did hit the bat.
Re: Pakistan v/s India 1st Test @ Lahore 13 - 17 jan 06
^ if our fielders are sleeping while fielding to hold a catch from Sehwag then Sehwag's 400 is what they deserve.
Re: Pakistan v/s India 1st Test @ Lahore 13 - 17 jan 06
The first catch was very straight-forward (almost a catching practice). The ball went under Inzamam, as he never seemed to get the hands on that one.
Someone else can maybe refresh my memory on the second one. Either it was similar to the dropped catch that I have described, or it might be the one when Sehwag was on 199. He holed one out to third-man but the ball fell short (hardly a couple of feet in front of the fielder).
So, yes, as Ramiz mentioned, if we get a full day's worth of play tomorrow, I am expecting a 1000 runs, meanwhile breaking all world records.
Re: Pakistan v/s India 1st Test @ Lahore 13 - 17 jan 06
Bund karo us thread ko. Ehsan bhai please lock kardein:(
First time ever in my life, I slept during the Pakistan India match and have no regrets.
PCB as they have said again and again that never was the intention to make a dead wicket, which the wicket has been. They were trying to make a pitch very much similar to Pak/england series pitches, which is understandable, since we won that series. Those pitches became responsive to our bowlers around 4th day after receiving necessary sun light and drying up. This pitch never received that and right now it is still like a 2nd or 3rd day pitch.
The point is that we heard several times before the series that, one problem will be that pitches may not turn out to be what curator are trying to make. Reason was weathor. PCB being the home country board should have convinced the Indian board to play the first match at Karachi.
The reason which PCB gave is that they did explain the situation to BCCi but they wanted a 3 day match before the series which was not possible in Karachi, so PCB had that side match in Lahore and in between the side match and first test, it was not possible to switch the centers. MY a$$:mad2:
Teams do switch centers even after immediately playing a match to play the next match, the next day. There was a 4 day gap between the side match and the first test match. It was not like players had to take a trans atlantic flight to reach karachi. Lahore-karahci flight is only for 1 and half hour. And specially if they were antipating the match hindered by weather, than there was justifcation for making karahci the first test match center regardless of all logistic issues.
This match has been killed by the pitch, but the pitch was killed by the weather. And what was PCB doing during all that? They could have anticipated that, only if they were NOT doping:smokin2:
Re: Pakistan v/s India 1st Test @ Lahore 13 - 17 jan 06
Khan sahab, I did read that article, and it just further buries the problem into a bunghole, which, essentially, is never going to be solved. I still believe that there are just some people "above the board" involved in this whole scenario that did want the pitch to be this way. But that's just me. Either that, or I am just frustrated, that's all.
You slept through it, good for you. Kabhi yeh merey wehem-o-gumaan mein bhi nahin tha kay itni important series kay darmayaan sona majboori ban jayegaa. Magar saree majboorion ko hata ker dil laga ker har ball dekhi match ki.
:(
Re: Pakistan v/s India 1st Test @ Lahore 13 - 17 jan 06
Nice to see everyone putting the blame where it should be .i.e THE pitch.
I wished they had said the same thing during first 2 days of plays. Alas, at that time it was all fault ot Veggie-eating Indian bowlers. :D It lot of hard work by Dravid and Sehwag to convine which was obvious.
Anyway ...there are 2 records on line.. Who thinks which one will not be broken
Re: Pakistan v/s India 1st Test @ Lahore 13 - 17 jan 06
Both records will be easily broken, I predict (I am also with Rameez on "1000 runs" prediction)
And if we would have gotten all five day's worth of play, I would not have blamed so heavily on the pitch as I did earlier. At least those sleepless nights would had turned into full-time after-hours entertainment. But the lack of play just made this factor weigh in more than all factors, combined.
Believe me, I love watching good teams battle it out. Whether it be the Indians, the Pakistanis, or any other team in the world, competition is a competition. I am still loving all the boundaries by Sehwag/Dravid, which should further convince PCB to make dead pitches in the future and label it as "sporting wicket", but at least we can hope for the best.
:)
Re: Pakistan v/s India 1st Test @ Lahore 13 - 17 jan 06
Both records will be broken as there is no movement at all for the bowlers! The ball is coming onto the bat nicely, it's just a matter of piercing the fielding and Veeru has done that perfectly.
Shehryar Khan can continue to warm his kisser in the box there and have regular puffs of cigars', or he can make sure competitve pitches are produced in PAK!
Re: Pakistan v/s India 1st Test @ Lahore 13 - 17 jan 06

I am still not putting direct blame on the pitch. It has been killed by the weather, but than is my opinion. It could still turn out to be the similar pitch we had in Multan or Lahore during England series, but looking at the current weather, I guess that will only happen after a week from today:( .
Whether it was the fault of sabzee khors or not, one thing is for sure. Performance by our ghost khors would have convinced the Indian management to use the same bowling combination in the next match as well, which wil be good. It is a rare sight to see agarkar as the opening bowler and gangu as the first change.
I would also like to add another record to your list. Lara's 400 runs record would be on Sehwag's mind too.
However the cockiness in his statement would make someone to wish that shoaib should hit him in his head tomorrow so as to bring him to his senses.
Re: Pakistan v/s India 1st Test @ Lahore 13 - 17 jan 06
A full-toss, at that. :p
Re: Pakistan v/s India 1st Test @ Lahore 13 - 17 jan 06
FnB, as pointed out earlier it was kinda difficult to see what the pitch for bowlers is like until your own bowlers start bowling on it (atleast thats how I see it :D). I hate to use ‘meat’ or ‘veggie’ as a blame-point for bowlers/players.
Atleast 1st record will be broken in 1st or 2nd over tomorrow (very likely), for 2nd record chances are pretty high that it’ll be broken, I hope Sehwag goes on and breaks Lara’s record of 400 too, just to rub it in.

Re: Pakistan v/s India 1st Test @ Lahore 13 - 17 jan 06
Kaneria and Sami looked the most frustrating bowlers of 'em all.
However, I loved the Sami/Sehwag interaction. Sehwag ordered Sami to go back to his bowling mark, and by his reactions, I thought Sami was his personal driver there for a second.
Re: Pakistan v/s India 1st Test @ Lahore 13 - 17 jan 06
Another question I had . I understand that there is nothign for bowler in the pitch but Shoib mystery slower delivery should work. Right.. Is in it slow in air and supposed to beat batsmen with huge change in speed. what went wrong their?? he did pretty well with those delivery against English.

Yep.... me too.. those were few incidents to look for in this boring game :D
Re: Pakistan v/s India 1st Test @ Lahore 13 - 17 jan 06
Rana has bowled quite a few of his slower deliveries, but not many of them were within the line of the stumps. They were wayward, and allowed the batsman to pick the length up very quickly.
Re: Pakistan v/s India 1st Test @ Lahore 13 - 17 jan 06
what 1000 runs? 1000 runs in one innings? For that they’ll have to score 600 runs in a day which means RR of 7.5 for full day, that is a possibility if Inzi keeps Rana and Sami bowling all day, they’ll be happily bowling at RR of 9.
Re: Pakistan v/s India 1st Test @ Lahore 13 - 17 jan 06
He is not using his slow balls anymore, I guess he is trying too hard to generate some short-pitched deliveries with pace which we all know are not going to work (pitch pitch pitch)… I don’t know why he isn’t using them. Sami and Rana threw a couple of slow deliveries but they were way off stumps.
