This team will play on Sunday. I can bet on it. However I would like to see Umer Gul instead of Rana.

I would personally like to see Shabbir in the team, as someone said earlier "jo ho ga dekha jaye ga baad mai", lets try to get the series in bag first. If Rana is to be brought into the team, it should be to replace Sami :o

I agree with woolmer here. These 2 openers should be given a long run. But It is the middle order wher Asim is needed. Hasan Raza should be replaced by Asim.
Drop Sami and Bring either Gul or Asif.

You can't play in Faisalabad with one spinner. If Malik can't bowl off-spin then he should seriously be dropped. We need Afridi in

Another option is to play two genuine spinners by adding Mushy in place of Shabbir.

2nd option is better. You dont wana strengthen your bowling line up on cost of exsiting weak batting line up.

We need to play Rana in place of Shabbir if he is to be dropped. Mushy should not have been an option in the first place.

Being one up in the series means England will be under pressure to equalize, Pakistan needs to sstrengthen its batting lineup cause that is the weak link which can be exploited. If selection was my discretion, then this wud be the team:

Salman Butt (LH Bat)
Taufeeq Umer (LH Bat)
Yunus Khan (RH Bat)
Inzimam* (RH Bat)
Yusuf (RH Bat)
Afridi (RH Bat & useful Leg spinner)
Akmal (WK)
Yasir Arafat (RH Medium Fast & useful batsman)
Shoaib Akhter (RH-Fast)
Sami (RH-Fast)
Kaneria (Leg spin-attack bowler)

we can have batting right down till number 8 (Yasir has a pretty decent batting record) and 5 recognized bowlers.

What will happen, will happen.

Just reported on GEO, Inzi saying Shabbir will not be playing in Faiselabad, Rana will be taking his place.Challo ub tho aap log khush heinna?

Also, Vaughan and Trescothic will be available.

meree baath manlo, Pak has a batting prpblem, it was exposed in Multan like many other test matches. We need to strengthen our weak spots.

and Taufeeq umar is your answer? Come on buddy, we need to look beyond 'has-been’s. Yes we need a regular opener but no Taufeeq Umars and Imran Farhats please.

To be honest, pik any other regular opening batsman who has done well in the domestic circuit. Give him a chance for example, Faisel Ather of Hyderabad has been performing quite consistently. Taufeeq started off very strongly, had the right attitide and temperament for an opener, but his confidence and with it his form has fallen by the wayside in recent times.

Although I know this will be the team for Sunday’s match, Afridi could get in at the expence of Malik or Sami. But Malik deserves more chances.

No doubt about that, but now if they are dropping Shabbir, our bowling will be exposed too, meree baat bhee maan lo … Having Shoaib and Kaneria as lone fighters won’t be enough to contain Eng batsmen. We need to improve in both areas batting and bowling.

That dude has disappointed me big time, he performed so well in domestic but in side matches he couldn’t do as much, I think even in A team he wasn’t at par.
