It should not be such a big problem to add another 1000 runs in 1-2 years since now he almost got his form back he should be able to maintain his position in the team.

He needs another 370 odd runs to move into the second position and provided he keeps his current form and with 4 ODI's against BD, 3 against SA and probably another 3 against NZ he whould acheive that target quite easily.

Don't count him out, Inzi has the ability to stay till 2007.
His only enemy is his ever fragile knee, if he can keep control, I don't see why he can't play till next WC.

I am not counting him out all I am saying is that he should be able to move into the 2 position within the next few months, Inshallah.

Oh my my my!!! 112 runs in last 11 overs. Great partnership by Inzi and Younis Khan. Good to learn both scored half-century. Yousuf Youhana seems to be coming back into his form. Bad luck he left one run short. He could have gotten his half-century at least.

Yasir Hammed smashes off

Yasir Hameed is a good find but seems to me he’s a lil bit impatient when he plays shots and running b/w the wickets. That’s how I felt about him when I saw him batted in Bank Alfalah Cup tournament. Anyway, he lacks experience and after playing tournament, he’ll gain experience; learn from his mistakes. A big :k: for him for his first century ton in ODI.

Bangladeshi batsman Rajin Saleh (left) is bowled by Pakistani paceman Abdul Razzaq

Another good sign is Abdul Razzaq coming back into his form. Two wickets in first over…COOL! He was economical as well Mohammad Hafeez. Umer Gul and Shabbir Ahmed were good, too.

Well, it seems like Junaid Zia is a waste. Man, on a debut match he gave too much extra runs. He was, once accused of chucking, which btw is not a matter of concern anymore. I hope Mohammad Sami gets well so he could join the party with rest of the team.

Overall, a good win for Pakistan in the process of rebuidling. The team need to get back into a fine form, figure out mistakes before taking on Saffies!

2nd ODI b/w Pakistan and Bangladesh is on Sep 12 @ Faisalabad.

Wonderfull batting and bowling by Pakistan...But I hope they can be consistent, and this great play doesn't last just againt BD.

These pakistani fans flow with the tide very smoothly. Aloo scored in two innings and they are talking about 20K runs etc etc, blah blah blah
Just imagine he was going to be kicked out of the team if he would have failed in his last test innings. Also imagine how much he would be ridiculed if he fails miserably in next four innings and against SA.

I don't know who said about the 20k, but Inzi's ton was the icebraker for him... at least this is what everyone thinks and believes, and he should be back in form hopefully and score better than 19 runs in 6 innings.

Salaam is any1 showing the matches?

** Bangladesh to face Sami in Pakistan one-day series **

Bangladesh, yet to win a match on tour in Pakistan, will face a full-strength Pakistan side including fast bowler Mohammad Sami in the third one-day international in Lahore on September 15.

Before that game the two countries meet for the second one-dayer in Faisalabad on Friday.

**Chief selector Aamer Sohail told Reuters on Wednesday that Sami had been given clearance by doctors to make himself available for the third one-day game.

“We are also expecting Shoaib Akhtar back from England in time for the fifth and final final one-dayer in Karachi on September 21,” Sohail said.**

“Hopefully by the time the final match is played we will have both Shoaib and Sami spearheading the attack with Umar Gul and Shabbir Ahmed as back-up.”

**Sohail also said that from the third match onwards there would be no more experiments in the Pakistan side as the best possible combination for the series against South Africa starting later this month would be finalised. ** (Allah Ka Shukar hai)

The selectors tried out several new players after 22-year-old Sami was ruled out of the test series against Bangladesh due to a stress hairline fracture in his right ankle.

Shoaib Akhtar played in the first two tests against Bangladesh, taking 10 for 90 in the second test at Peshawar, but than returned to England to complete his contract with Durham.

**Pakistan squad for the second one-day match: **

Inzamam-ul-Haq (Captain), Imran Nazir, Mohammad Hafeez, Yasir Hameed, Yousuf Youhana, Younis Khan, Kamran Akmal, Abdul Razzak, Shoaib Malik, Shabbir Ahmed, Umar Gul, Junaid Zia, Danish Kaneria and Salman Butt.

Whaoh! Yesterday I prayed for Mohammad Sami to be back in current ODI series and there’s the news. Not only Sami, Shoaib will be back in the fifth and Final ODI{Hopefully}

I am expacting he would do that by the end of SA series.

I think he should be able to get atleast 150 by the end of Bangladesh series. I hope he gets more. I mean one century and a couple of 50's will take him even beyond 200 and Inzi is fully capable of that. But between 150-200 should be the minimun he gets. After that if his form continues agaisnt South Africa Inshallah he will get the rest. I'd love it if he smahes 4 back to back centuries but its just too long a shot.

**Bangladesh batting must improve in one-dayers-coach **

Coach Dav Whatmore, smarting from Bangladesh’s 137-run defeat in the first one-day international, is demanding an improved batting performance against Pakistan on Friday.

“Our batsmen will have to stand up and take responsibility,” Whatmore said.

“In Multan, all the top batsmen failed to click and that didn’t help at all. We still believe Pakistan’s bowling is their weak link.”

Pakistan outclassed Bangladesh in Multan. Yasir Hameed led the run spree with 116 and helped the home side to 323 for three, their highest one-day total against Bangladesh.

Whatmore is also looking for his bowlers to put the brakes on Pakistan’s top order.

“Pakistan’s batting is definitely stronger than their bowling and we have to ensure their batsmen are not given the same space as in the first match,” Whatmore told reporters on Thursday.

While Pakistan is expected to field an unchanged side, Bangladesh may drop all rounder Sanwar Hossain and include medium-pacer Hasibul Hossain.

Bangladesh have not won a one-dayer since their famous defeat of Pakistan in the 1999 World Cup at Northampton.

Since then, they have lost 38 out of 40 one-day internationals, with two being no results due to bad weather.

Pakistan skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq said his side would not let up and Bangladesh could expect more of the same in Faisalabad.

"We are aiming to be consistent in all five matches of this series. We want to carry on with the performance we gave in Multan.

“Pakistan’s main problem has been its consistency in this form of the game. I think this series gives us a good opportunity to do be consistent in all departments of the game.”

is ARY showing the matches than what time does the coverage start in Middle East

These matches will be good pratice for South Africa
Bangla is improved, but I am not sure they have the attacking talent to play ODI's yet.
It is nice to see Yassir Hameed bat well, but how he performs against South Africa will show his class. I would love to see Saeed Bin Nasir play today. It is time the poor guy got a shot. Did'nt Yassir Hameed play well for a few years in the Domestic League before someone gave him a chance? Seems like Saeed is in a similar situation.
