Pakistan V Bangladesh - Test and ODI series.

133.2 Umar Gul to Mashrafe Mortaza, OUT: Gone!! great yorker right into
block hole, no chance for batsman to digs it out, plays all over
it, ball hit the middle stump

BD 361 all out. Shoaib picks up a haul of 6 wickets. From 302/2 to 361 all out. Great fightback by Pakistan.

Lets hope our batsmen can now deliver.

I wonder what Shoiab Akhtar had for Lunch :p But great bowling by Shoiab and the rest of the bowlers really need to get their act together. Now lets see what our batsmen do :)

**Magnificant spell of fast bowling by Shoaib :k: This is the shoaib we wish to see more consistently, taking the responsibility of being a senior bowler and delivering the goods. **

hold on to ur horses. we still have today and 3 more days. who knows, pakistan MIGHT [exception] pull a MIRACLE and lose the match :~)

you were the one who was predicting a loss in the previuos match, right??

*Bangladesh 361
Pakistan 69/1 (18.0 ov) *

Last Wicket: 51/1 (10.4 ov); Partnership RR: 4.78

Mohammad Hafeez c Khaled Mashud b Khaled Mahmud 21 (58m 41b 3x4 1x6) SR: 51.22

Hafeez is not a Test Player.. i think they should replace him with Salman Butt in 3rd Test..

Pakistan 84/2

*Yasir Hameed b Mohammad Rafique 23 (52m 42b 4x4 0x6) SR: 54.76 *

Inzimam joins Taufiq.

Is Muhammed Sami gonna be available for the third test?

^^ nopes, not even for one dayers..

At stumps on day 2 Pakistan are 134/2 with Taufeeq not out 60 and Inzi not out 24.

Perfect opportunity for Inzi to play a big innings and reestablish himself tomorrow.

Overall not a bad day for Pakistan especially after lunch when the ball started to reverse swing and Shoaib took BD apart.

Pakistan can win this match if they apply themselves and establish a big lead by batting till say mid afternoon on the 4th day and then put BD in.

Our hope is Inzi the man..He can turnaround the game at his own will. We all know what the big guy is capable off..

One more century from Bengladesh, Bashar missed his another century.

Now the high scorers of last game are gone, responsibility is on Taufeeq and senior shoulders like Inzimam, Youhanna, Rashid. Shoaib Malik should perform too. Pakistan should look towards scoring around 550 at least.

I think this is made for Inzi, he has the class to dominate the BD spinners, an ability that will be required to get a big knock. Hafeez and Yoyo are the type of players who get bogged down and in these situations you need a batsman who can take charge and not let the bwlers settle into a rhythm.

Only one BD wicket fell to spin on a dry flat pitch which isn't good enough. Two players who have come in for constant criticism need to be backed here. Shoaib, for all his faults is our most effective strike bowler along with Sami. Taufeeq who people keep demanding be chucked out of the side was our top player in SA and has a test average of over 40. We will need his grit and determination again when we play the South Africans so lay off.

Malik retires hurt from Bangladesh test

PESHAWAR, Pakistan, Aug 28, 2003 (Reuters)

Pakistan all rounder Shoaib Malik has retired injured from the second test against Bangladesh.

Pakistan Cricket Board spokesman Samiul Hasan told Reuters Malik would take no further part in the match.

“He has pulled his hamstring and groin muscles and is also doubtful for the third test,” Hasan said.

The 21-year-old bowled just 12 overs on Wednesday’s first day of the test.

The hot and humid conditions at the Arbab Niaz Stadium in Peshawar have also seen fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar struggling.

He suffered vomiting and dizzy spells on the first day and bowled on Thursday with the help of a ice jacket.

:crying: :crying: :crying:

why the heck he didnt perform like that some 30 or 40 overs before BD went on to make 361 … nevertheless a superb and devastating spell of fast bowling … that shows us if Sami played the score would by far less than what they now have on the board …

Sometimes it seems to me that Shobby needs just to get in mood to rip through a batting line … unfortunatly he is seen rarely in this mood

Thats bad news, I was looking for good score from him :(, what happens in such situations, does Pakistan play (bat) with 10 players now?

They can field with 11 but only 10 can bat. So in fact today's closing score of 134/2 can be read as 134/3.

:frowning: :frowning: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:

Allah karay kay as lastman bat kar sakay

 Thats what I feared. Thanks for info.

Lets see how the conditions stay in the next 3 days. Since Malik's retirement from the match, all pressure is one Inzi and Taufeeq, one of these guys needs to go on and score a huge score, possible a 200+, and score like 400 runs tommorrow, so they they can bowl out Bangalis without having to deal with a possibility of a draw.
Finally Shoaib performs his true potential once in blue moon, last time was against Australia in Colombo.
Shoaib Malik should have never been part of the squad in the first place, him along with M Hafeez are one day specialist. Mizbah should have been given another chance, or else Saeed Bin Nasir should have been here in his place.
