Pakistan V Bangladesh - Test and ODI series.

A great achievement for Yasir Hameed and for Pakistan. Some people might not give it much importance as its agaisnt the Bangladeshis, but they are a test playing nation maybe not the strongest but its still a great achievement. I hope Yasir continues his rich vein of form and demolish South Africa too. Seems like we did find someone for the #3 slot, much better then Faisal Iqbal I must say.

Yasir Hammed gone :(

Yoyo is the new batsman.

Pakistan require another 45 runs for Victory with 7 wickets in hands

I never heard of Lawrence Rowe but scoring a century in both innings is a major feat.
Most players from other teams don't get chances like that because they win by an innings usually but well played Yasir Hameed.
He has already scored 275 runs in one match, does anybody know the record of scoring most runs in a 3 test match series.

He did his job. Came in at #3 scored a century and left Inzi and YoYo to finish it off. YoYo wasnt as his usual fluent self in the first innings and Inzi also needs to get some runs. Well played Yasir, keep it up.

Back-to-Back-to-Back boundaries by the Big Man.

  • 63.4 Sanwar Hossain to Inzamam-ul-Haq, FOUR, fuller ball on legs, swept away very fine to fine leg for another boundary

  • 63.3 Sanwar Hossain to Inzamam-ul-Haq, FOUR, short ball, goes back and cuts it to behind point for four again

  • 63.2 Sanwar Hossain to Inzamam-ul-Haq, FOUR, comes down the wicket and drives it over mid on for four

:mudhosh: :mudhosh: :mudhosh: :mudhosh: :mudhosh: :mudhosh:

Pakistan 196/3, require another 21 runs for Victory.

two balls remaining before lunch and two runs needed....
i hope we wont have to wait another hour to see pakistan won bangladesh in a test match....

Okay, this one is won and now the hockey match! :)

69.6 Mashrafe Mortaza to Inzamam-ul-Haq, one run, thats it! what a way
to get the winning run, pitches on off, Inzamam defends it back to
bowler, Mortaza pikcs up in his follow through, throw in anger,
off the stumps to third man, batsmen run a single, so Pakistan win
this match by 7 wickets

Bangladesh 288 & 274
Pakistan 346 & 217/3 (70.0 ov)

:~)

:jhanda: PAKISTAN’S VICTORY :jhanda:

Mohammad Hafeez and Yasir Hammed cemented 134 runs partnership. Yasir Hammed, the highlight of the match, will remember this Test match as long as he lives. Absoultely brilliant innings by him. No Question Asked!

Inzamam-ul-Haq and Yousuf Youhana finished it off together as Pakistan secured first Test match by 7 wickets.

:jhanda: Mubarak ho… Hopefully this will put us back on the winnig track. Great batting by Yasir Hameed, I think we will get to see some fireworks from Inzi in the next match too.

great batting by inzi....
35* is very good followed by a duck (especially when that duck followed a 329 after more than a year's break) ;)

H U R R A Y ! ! ! !

should Pakistan keep the same 11 players for 2nd test match or should there be changes, adding Shoaib Malik or Saeed bin Nazir.

Squad: Muhammad Hafeez, Taufiq Umar, Yasir Hameed, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Yousaf Youhana, Misbahul Haq, Rashid Latif (captain), Shoaib Malik, Umer Gul, Shabbir Ahmed, Danish Kaneria, Shoaib Akhtar, Saeed Bin Nasir, Muhammad Khalil and Farhan Adil.

01 ???
02 ???
03 Yasir Hameed
04 Inzamam-ul-Haq
05 Yousaf Youhana
06 ???
07 Rashid Latif (captain)
08 ???
09 Shoaib Akhtar
10 Danish Kaneria
11 Shabbir Ahmed

It was reported in yesterday’s Dawn that Razzaq was released by the PCB to play in the county championship. I couldn’t find the Dawn article but here’s The News:

Contradicting themselves.

The News

Congratulations to Pakistan and also well played BD.

The positives from this match have to be Yasir Hameed and Shabbir. Let's hope they continue in the same vein.

Good to see that Shoaib bowled well without much luck and kept his mouth shut.

Also it was good of PCB to have awarded Yasir RS 5 lakh for his efforts.

The opening slot needs to be sorted out. I would keep Hafeez but am not so sure about Taufiq.

Also Danish's performance was mediocre.

It would be nice to see a 3/0 sweep as it will put the team in the right frame of mind for the big series against SA.

BD have been improving fast since their tour of Australia and Dave Whatmore seems to be doing wodners with them. The team can no longer be taken lightly.

I think Danish will retain his place in the team even though he wasn't as impressive since there is no other quality spinner in the team. Shabbir bowled excellent and so did the rest of the bowlers. I think the only changes which Pakistan should make for their 2nd test match is that Misbah, Taufeeq, and Gul need to be replaced. Neither of the three was impressive.

one match and you get the boot!!!.. we are not playing the weakest link here are we??

It is very unlikely that PCB will change the team, even though opening pair is very weak, I think it will be same player for the 2nd test.

But when you have a young team, you need to give everyone a chance and pick the best. Umar Gul was not impressive at all, and same with Taufeeq Umer, he still has the same technical flaws. Don’t know about Misbah since he only got to bat once.

Hameed doubles up](BBC SPORT | Cricket | Hameed doubles up)

First Test, Karachi, day five: Pakistan 346 & 217-3 beat Bangladesh 288 & 274 by seven wickets

**Yasir Hameed became only the second player in history to make two centuries in his debut Test as Pakistan wrapped up the match at the National Stadium.

Hameed added 105 to his first innings 170 to emulate West Indian Lawrence Rowe, who made 214 and 100 against New Zealand in Jamaica 31 years ago.**

He was eventually bowled off the inside edge by spinner Mohammad Rafique, but Inzamam-ul-Haq and Yousuf Youhana saw Pakistan home.

The game ended in anti-climax as the winning run came when Mashrafe bin Mortaza hurled the ball at the stumps after fielding off his own bowling and the ball ricocheted away for an overthrow.

Pakistan resumed on 112-1, needing only another 105 for victory, after Shabbir Ahmed had tilted the match in their favour by sweeping away the Bangladesh tail on the fourth day for figures of 5-48.

Hameed and Mohammad Hafeez extended their second wicket partnership to 134 before Rafique ended Hafeez’sthree and a half hour innings by bowling him for 50.

It was a nightmare for me - fearing that Bangladesh could upset us in the Test

But Bangladesh were powerless to curb Hameed’s strokeplay and his century duly arrived off 155 balls soon after a drinks break.

It made him only the fourth Pakistani to score two hundreds in the same Test, following Hanif Mohammad, Javed Miandad, now the national team coach, and Wajahatullah Wasti.

He added a 15th boundary before Rafique finally found a way through the 25-year-old’s defences, but it took Inzamam and Youhana only 12 more overs to add the 47 left for victory.

Inzamam, playing his first international match since the World Cup, atoned for his first innings duck with 35 not out and Youhana was unbeaten on 15.
