Rameez was a mediocre player during his time, and now as a commentator, he was against Mohammad Yousaf, he is against Misbah, he don’t like Fawad Alam and he loves Afridi or any player who can perform once in a while..
I normally mute the tv when he comes on for comments…

Both Wahab and Sami are a case in point that unless you bowl intelligently, pace alone does not help. Both often too wayward wrt line and length

wahab is not a newbie… playing test matches for 7 years
if we have 98 overs on the last day, Pak is in danger given its mental block when put in survival mode regardless of how good the wicket is. we lost like 7 wickets in 10 overs in hamilton and many many more cases like this

This is why test cricket is the pinnacle of the sport. It ebbs and flows like no other format in cricket and for obvious reasons (time factor, 2 chances, no bowling or fielding restrictions etc.)
How things change! Only a day and a half ago we were praying for rain to stay away. Now we need some help from the weather to stop Australia winning here.
Hope not but just knowing our batting 7-8 wickets can go down in one mad session (Sydney 2010, Colombo, Edgbaston 2016 and Hamilton 2016)

Smith should look forward to post something like 180 more runs in first session of the day, yeah at run-rate of 6 or more then declare and have Pakistan put in 20 overs that is before tea!!!

Why are we always so pessimistic. Yes it can happen but at the same time Brisbane can also happen. A team which has scored over 400 in the last two innings against Aus is suddenly in danger of getting bowled out by the same attack They might, but lets have some confidence. I dont buy it.

the bowling on these seam-friendly pitches has been pathetic from Pakistan. Even Amir can’t seem to take wickets. We don’t have “wicket-takers” anymore. Instead of Yasir it would’ve been better to include Imad Wasim and try him instead.
Wahab has always been wayward, so many no-balls, etc.
In contrast we always see Sohail Khan, Imran Khan, etc put in better efforts but they always get sidelined. Our bowling has become lethargic and wicketless specially after the era of Ajmal, Shoaib Akhtar, M. Asif, etc.
Our batting can perform pretty much in UAE. See what happened to them in NZ recently ? And now in Aus?
Perhaps its time for Younis Khan and Misbah to exit gracefully now. Misbah’s defensive field settings just destroy a bowlers confidence.

it is all about statistics and track record…i can cite you at least 25 events where pakistan got suddenly flat in 2nd innings and may be 3 times when they survived…we have lack of confidence not pessimism.
when wasim and waqar used to bowl, we were always optimistic that they will win it for us no matter what. we were not pessimistic then. so dont blame us, blame your mahan batting
sir jee narza na hon…here is another score card for you from your time. see PANIKSTAN. they scored almost 600 runs in the first innings on a perfect wicket and then…so why blame us. look what your mahan pakistan did in 2nd innings. hum to paida bee nahieen huway thay, you may have watched it live 
yae bemarie bhot purani hai sarkar…sorry, cant trust them on pretext of patriotism . they need to earn our trust.

you know your team is in deep sh!t when the captain goes for 0 on two balls on a ridiculous shot that can be avoided under this much pressure. Pak 4 down and few more can lead to inning defeat

it was so obvious. the stage was all set for Pakistan to fail. it has happened so many times, so many times before that i dont know how to feel optimistic

In this inning Ian Gould has given two LBWs. Just watched Azhar being given out. The ball was less than 50 pct hitting leg stump width wise. And just clipping bails. But Gould had no doubt.
If he had given not out, his call would have stood also.
In a game of inches, Gould gave that inch and a half to Australia. Why am I not surprised.

Not only that but i’m very suprised that the two wickets Lyon took, his first half of the foot was in front of the line while the lower half was in air, so technically his foot was not on the line at all. How is it not a no-ball? Not that it takes away the stupidity of our batsmen ofcourse.
Your point is valid about that marginally clipping the wickets.Such a slim touch.
