Re: Pakistan v Australia 1st Test Melbourne , Dec 26-30
^ Unfortunately Yousuf is a copy of Inzi in many regards
1) He goes only for plan A
2) He doesn't want to play on 1-down position
3) Not to forget mixed-run ups resulting in run-outs
Still, fingers crossed!
Re: Pakistan v Australia 1st Test Melbourne , Dec 26-30
yeah....so true...Imho its 'cause he is a TJ graduate. May Allah lead him to higher grounds and better leadership. One thing though, we won't see a lot of "yes, no, maybe" type of decision making from him. Only in his run outs..lolz
Re: Pakistan v Australia 1st Test Melbourne , Dec 26-30
^ Lets not drag TJ graduation here, otherwise why would he even "compete"? lol
![]()
hunh…compete for what? do you mean captaincy?
To be fair...no one has wanted to bat at number 3 since Ijaz Ahmed. Ijaz was not a number 3 player but he worked hard and showed some guts and did relatively well...especially against a top attack like Australia.
Yousef is fine at 4. Its the managements job for not sending someone like Yasir Hameed out to cover for Younis at 3. Sending Bhanja in that position with his obvious shortcomings is asking a lil too much.

So the curator says a Fair wicket which for my liking would look more like a bowler wcket once We Bat
So my Composition of the Playing 11 would be
Farhat
Butt
Akmal
Yousaf
Faisal
Umar
Aamir (convince him that he can be a genuine Allrounder), He has a good Batting Technique just needs a bit Temprament and Guidance
Gul
Asif
Sami (if there is Pace and Bounce than he should utilise it) … he’ll considered good if he goes for less than 4 rpo
Danish
Sofar for my wishes ![]()
I guess it would rather look like this
Farhat
Butt
Faisal
Yousaf
Malik
Akmal
Umar
Aamir
Gul
Asif
Danish

Dont see Malik playing..he hasnt done anything with the bat. Sami is still not in Australia...unlikely he will play. It will probably be the same team that played in the last test vs the Kiwis...think thats our best side from the crop of players currently in Australia...
Re: Pakistan v Australia 1st Test Melbourne , Dec 26-30
sami cant play he didnt even got the visa yet.......he will not play the 1st test

Personally, I dont think how its possible to have someone play right away after flying in from Pakistan less than 48 hours before the start of the test match, therefore I am questioning this news article in dawn today that says Sami will play in the first test. Isnt Sami playing the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Final as captain of Karachi blues, so what happens if he leaves in 3 days and Habib bank is chasing a target? They’ll be short a strike bowler? The Pak cricket like Pak politics dont make any sense to a normal person.
DAWN.COM | Sport | Sami to leave for Australia today
LAHORE: Paceman Mohammad Sami will leave for Australia on Wednesday night to join the Pakistan team before the start of the first Test starting in Melbourne from Saturday.
Sami was called after the team management informed the PCB that the available fast bowlers — Mohammad Asif, Umar Gul and Mohammad Aamir — had exhausted and two reserves bowlers were required as back-up.
While Sami is going from Pakistan, Abdur Rauf is already in the squad but remained untested so far.
Sami is likely to play the first Test in place of Umar, who is facing some fitness problems, as Rauf is likely to remain untested despite showing good performances in the side matches in New Zealand and now against Tasmania. He captured seven wickets in two matches including four scalps in New Zealand.

U r not serious right !!!
Karachi Blues shall be encouraging him to go to Australia and not to worry about the match...this shall increase their chances to win the match, as the other side still got Younis Khan...:)
Sami aya hee aya, aao hum sab mil kar rooyain…:crying:
plus he took 6 wickets to bundle out HBL for 66…
Re: Pakistan v Australia 1st Test Melbourne , Dec 26-30
