Allah aisay logoan par rehem farmayin they are not representing their country well..
khumin may be because we have to test our young players..
i dun thin yasir hammeed should be dropped..he played well in those county matches..so he should get some more chance..
anyone remem the interview of rashid latif before the match.. he said he doesnt have high hopes for the team as we are in a rebuilding process so we may not be able to win the first game but we will try our best in next one..
i m glad that our players did more than we expect em to do..

can anyone please tell me why saleem elahi is not in the squad

I think he has a few problems with his batting techniques. He got out by playing same stroke a few times in the past, he needs to work with his shot selection.
Bilal Asad is a very effective batsman, i mean he is a proper batsman. Doenst bowl fast but keep it tight in middle overs. Some years back, he used to try to copy Mark Waugh's stance and style.. Dunno about now.

Hes a good prospect, and as a close friend I really hope he performs well and does not get axed like a one series find...
Ehsan good to hear you had fun and I am sure your journy back to home must have been peacefull :).
I tried to look for you, but could not track you down. The camera was moving too fast as the player come out runing instead of walking :). BTW do you have "muchay" and what were u wearing?

I thought Umar Gul bowled very well today, but Shoaib is just too damn good of a bowler to be on the sidelines.
Umar Gul still has a bright futures ahead of him.

KARACHI: Speedster Shoaib Akhtar will replace young Umar Gul in the Pakistan line-up for the second One-day International against England at the Oval on Friday.
Captain Rashid Latif confirmed on Wednesday that Shoaib would be playing in the second match in place of Umar Gul.
“Otherwise it is going to be an unchanged side.” Shoaib missed the first international because of a two match ban imposed on him last month prior to the final of the triangular series in Sri Lanka on ball tampering charges.
Rashid also made it clear the injury he suffered when a ball struck him while he was keeping was not a serious one.
“The swelling is very much there but there is no pain and I will definitely be playing in the remaining matches of the series,” :k: he said. But the Pakistan captain made it clear that it would not be easy going for his team in the second One-dayer as batting under lights was very difficult in England.
**“It becomes very murky and very difficult to pick up the discolored white ball in such conditions. On Tuesday many of the batsmen complained of finding it difficult to spot the ball properly and only picked it up late,” ** he said.
The Pakistan skipper stated he was not surprised with the way his young team had performed against England.
“The stress on performing collectively is there all the time but at the same time no one has become complacent and we know we need to play two more tough games.”
Rashid said he was very disappointed that his plea to the Pakistani crowds in Manchester not to invade the ground had gone unheeded.
“It is nothing but a blot on the image and name of the team and country. People must understand that,” he added.
Too bad I would like to see Misbah get a shot as well.
I think that Danish should also be given a chance, he has played well in most of the ODI's he's had a shot in
Maybe we should try Misbah in place of YoYo for a while since he has been struggling for so long.
Could be that he is tired, he has been constantly with the team since well before the World Cup
Plans have been announced to enhance security at The Oval ahead of Friday’s second one-day international between England and Pakistan in order to prevent a repeat of the scenes at Old Trafford where hundreds of spectators stormed onto the outfield to celebrate Pakistan’s two-wicket victory in the first NatWest Challenge meeting.
Whether the same group of fans will be quite so ready to run on to celebrate another victory depends largely whether England’s batsmen can come to terms with Pakistan’s attack, or whether a combination of inexperience and injudicious shot selection again leaves England’s bowlers an inadequate total to defend.
There is no doubt that both of these somewhat experimental sides deserve another chance at The Oval. Pakistan certainly merit another go because they won at Old Trafford and most of their players made significant individual contributions towards the team success.** Having said that, it would be unthinkable for Shoaib Akhtar not to return to the attack after his suspension for ball tampering on what is the quickest pitch in the land. Shoaib and Mohammad Sami will give those England batsmen no respite from raw pace. **
And what of England? Nobody could reasonably expect that while planning for the 2007 World Cup, the selectors would get it spot on first time. They had presumably seen enough of the batting of the youngsters who failed in Manchester to suggest there is better to come.
What would make it so much easier for them is to arrive in the middle with a decent total already on the board. That requires the more experienced players to convert starts into proper innings. Five of the top six got into double figures at Old Trafford, yet Andrew Flintoff was top scorer with only 39. Four of Pakistan’s top six got into double figures, but Mohammad Hafeez played the match-winning innings of 69. That was the difference between two evenly matched teams.
There might well be a clue at The Oval as to whether either of these sides will be considered genuine contenders for the World Cup in four years’ time. There was no shortage of excitement at Old Trafford but an obvious lack of quality. If either side show signs of learning to reach an acceptable level of quality, and so diminish the excitement, that team has a future. It does not have to be the finished article, but it should be able to demonstrate that first night nerves were shrouding potential at Old Trafford rather than a thrilling finish masking a lack of ability. What price a decider at Lord’s on Sunday?
I'm not sure that Gul deserves to be dropped, he bowled well on Tuesday and his height could get some useful bounce from the Oval wicket. My view is that Razzaq's bowling is non-threatening these days, but his batting can still sometimes prove crucial. Further down the line hopefully our batting line up will be strong enough that we don't have to play the likes of Razzaq as an insurance policy. Despite the fact that both he and Azhar were playing, it's worth pointing out that the wickets were taken by other bowlers mainly in the last match.
It can be argued both ways but currently our batting is the main problem not the bowling. Therefore it is better to play both Razzaq and Azhar instead of Umar. They might not deliver bowling wise but they can contain and also score runs when needed. Down the line when our batting stabilises then we can afford to play only one of them, like we used to.

I agree. I mean there is no doubt in YoYo's class but the guy is surely out of form, and we can just rest him and play Misbah who has performed well every time he has been given a chance.
As for who should be dropped to replace Shoaib. I agree with Ehsan on that one, though it would be harsh to drop Umar Gul but that seems to be the only logical option. Shoiab is our main strike bowler and along with Sami makes a deadly opening bowling combination. We need Razzaq and Azhar just to strengthen our batting due to a very fragile middle order. YoYo is out of sorts, Younis Khan always looked classy but unfortunatley has not been very dependible. So two of our main batsmen are not dependable atleast not at the moment. I am sure Umar Gul has a bright future but for now he'll have to be sidelined. I am wondering if Gul could/should be tried as an opening bowler and we can hold either Sami or Shoiab back. Juts like in the old days when Akram and Aaqib opened the bowling and Waqar used to come first change. He was much more deadly with the old ball, I think we should hold Shoiab back and open with Gul and Sami (once the batting problems are solved) and see how Shoiab does with the older ball.
