It looks like Faisal Athar is out of action for the whole series when Bilal Asad ran over his hand, its not too serious.
I guess now it will be easier for the selectors, now they have to pick from 14 players.

NW, you were missed a fair bit during the WC. But don't worry I'll fill you in on all the action that you missed. Here's what happened:
1) Sherrybabs proposed to Funguy. We're still waiting for FG's answer. He hasn't been seen around here for quite a while.

I constantly reminded Fg to keep our affair a low profile.I hate him...I hate him ..I hate himm

Pakistan batsman injured ahead of first ODI
Pakistan’s opening batsman, Faisal Athar, has been ruled out of action for at least 10 days after sustaining an injury during Pakistan’s 62-run victory against Northamptonshire on Wednesday.
Faisal required seven stitches on the fourth finger of his left hand after receiving a deep cut from the spikes in Bilal Asad’s shoes. As Faisal dived to stop the ball crossing the mid-on boundary, Bilal, who was following close behind, jumped to avoid him and accidentally landed on his hand.
Faisal is the only injury concern ahead of Tuesday’s first match at Old Trafford, although Danish Kaneria has a slight strain in his left hamstring. It hasn’t prevented him from training, however, and he hopes to be available for selection.

Knee injury rules out Johnson
Source
Wisden CricInfo staff - June 13, 2003
Richard Johnson has been ruled out of next week’s NatWest Challenge series against Pakistan after sustaining a knee injury. He played a limited part in training in Cardiff ahead of Saturday’s warm-up match against Wales and was ruled out for the next week after consultation with England medical staff.
It is the latest in a long line of setbacks for Johnson, who was first called into an England squad for the trip to South Africa in 1995-96, but had to withdraw with a back injury. He had remained on the fringes ever since, but eventually made his international debut against Zimbabwe in last week’s second Test at Durham, at the age of 28, and picked up two wickets in his first over en route to figures of 6 for 33.
Sussex’s James Kirtley will become Johnson’s temporary replacement, although he will not be in consideration for the Wales match. England are optimistic that Johnson will be fit again in time for the opening match of the NatWest Series against Zimbabwe at Trent Bridge next Thursday.
“Richard’s knee is swollen and sore and we have ruled him out of all cricket for the next week,” said Dr Peter Gregory, England’s chief medical officer. “But we are hopeful he will be ready to return for the NatWest Series.”
Anyone know??
What happen to that new England fast bowler who British media was comparing w/ Shoaib and Bret Lee... they were making a lot of fuzz about him..before last ashes?? what was his name??

Late uncle AQ was reincarnated as Allah Ka Banda, but had a very short life so than late Allah Ka Banda was again reincarnated into Allah Ka Banda 2. ![]()
Just heard that Razzaq will be replacing Faisal Athar.
I still don't understand, why are there 16 players instead of 15.
source? If its true, then it’ll confirm the hypocrisy of our selectors. They just can’t seem CAPABLE enough just to stick to their own decisions. ![]()
