anyhow i see in the thread that opium has been readily brought up as a source for income. Interesting to find out the UN record on the production of opium under taliban and the increase in its production since the coalition forces have supposedly entered the region. Who do you blame for that increase? saudis? taliban or coalition forces?
Irrelevant point to the discussion. Now that the the taliban need funds, they are relying on opium revenue as areas under their control like helmand are thriving with opium. Though donations from extremist salafi muslims worldwide are known to be a big funding resource as well.
