Re: Pakistan sex taboos challenged by TV phone-in show
Quite true. Observing wall-chalking during an extended drive on a highway gives one impression that ‘mardana kamzori’ is the number one problem people face in the country.

^ A lot of ways are available even in desi communities.
Desis are not ignorant about sex.
They have also been having sex for centuries…![]()
Re: Pakistan sex taboos challenged by TV phone-in show
Would you please enlighten us by writing what these private ways of obtaining help are?
And I don’t think anyone here is suggesting people start sleeping around all of a sudden. And promiscuous behavior should be discouraged sounds less hostile than it should be opposed.
Re: Pakistan sex taboos challenged by TV phone-in show
But times have changed. With society back in desi land getting more conservative, they just follow the Nike logo. But probably don’t talk too much abt it?
Re: Pakistan sex taboos challenged by TV phone-in show
And what are these ways please?

How Girls Are Developing Earlier In An Age Of ‘New Puberty’ : Shots - Health News : NPR
Would this talk be appropriate for a daytime radio show in Pakistan? It would be in Urdu of course.
Re: Pakistan sex taboos challenged by TV phone-in show
I just read the original article. Turns out the show isn’t what we thought it was. They’re giving people religious dogma instead of actual medical advice. What’s the point? I could get that from my local imam. Why should I call you guys
?
Re: Pakistan sex taboos challenged by TV phone-in show
No one is talking about solving sexual problems through tv shows. Its all about informing people & letting them know that whatever problems they have are not unique to them.
Re: Pakistan sex taboos challenged by TV phone-in show
Well, they have to give it religious flavor to make sure that mullahs don’t burn down tv studio or charge host with blasphemy, but I agree with what you are saying.
Pakistan sex taboos challenged by TV phone-in show
The point is they encourage you to talk about it and that’s something that wsnt done before so there you go. How many women goto imams to talk about it btw?
Re: Pakistan sex taboos challenged by TV phone-in show
wait curious how do conservative countries talk about sex? and other topics like molestation, rape etc. Or does it not exist in Utopia Pakistan?
My children will never experience this conservative nature regarding sex… in fact I come from a very liberal country yet I do not have an STI. Don’t you think it’s lack of education/knowledge that spreads STIs rather than being very liberal about sex?
Re: Pakistan sex taboos challenged by TV phone-in show
verrryyyyy carefully.
Re: Pakistan sex taboos challenged by TV phone-in show
So what are we going to call that forum here? I guess it will be a write in show.
Re: Pakistan sex taboos challenged by TV phone-in show
No, but I want to know. How do people who do not live in the west talk about these things
Re: Pakistan sex taboos challenged by TV phone-in show
They don’t, at least openly. Very very close friends would.
That’s why you label them “conservative” in the first place.
And by definition ‘taboo’ is something you don’t talk about in open.
Re: Pakistan sex taboos challenged by TV phone-in show
I have taken part in tv and radio programs and can tell, the only real advice people can take from it is “talk to your doctor about it”. Health related programs are only good to educate people about emergencies, that is, when to immediately go to hospital or to give bridging advice till they reach a medical expert.
I think we don’t even need coffee, some of us are high feeding their own ego.
If women have sexual health issues they talk to their gynaecologist, if its men, they go to urologist. Even GPs are trained in giving the generic advice, that these programs dish out. And they can refer the difficult cases to urologists.
Re: Pakistan sex taboos challenged by TV phone-in show
There are many islamic principles related to sex that are written in many books.
Re: Pakistan sex taboos challenged by TV phone-in show
You mean like bahishti zevar? I remember discussing it in school with our urdu teacher but we were laughing at the funny, outdated stuff in it. I have no idea whether it has any anatomical advice.
Re: Pakistan sex taboos challenged by TV phone-in show
You can have all the knowledge in the world, but a person practicing abstinence or in a mutually monogamous relationship will always have a lower risk of contracting STIs than someone who sleeps around. So you can’t say sleeping around has no risk as long as you’re using the safe sex methods. The risk is reduced, it isn’t eliminated.
Re: Pakistan sex taboos challenged by TV phone-in show
All about risk reward ratio.
