Leave the borders to them and withdraw, because at the moment even the presence of the forces is not working.
You leave the borders open and then every mishap in the world will be blamed on Pakistan, there will continous unchecked violation of borders and who knows along with these white enemy, brown one start penetrating... so leaving borders alone won't help...

^ My response was sarcastic, at the moment with Pakistani army stationed on the borders on the one end the Americans allege that terrorists cross the border from Pakistan to Afghanistan , and on the other side drones keep attacking areas within Pakistan (again our forces are stationed in those areas).
In the beginning the Americans were testing us through drones and now we are entering a new phase in which they will be testing the forces directly. After this we should be prepared for something big. The thing is that whether we remain their allies or not the situation is slowly moving towards a catestrophy.
According to a recent guardian report Americans want a no fire zone on the Pakistani border areas where Pakistani army wont be allowed to fire but Americans can do whatever they please.

One thing that is universal - those who are hawkish are never on the frontlines. They are typically behind the safety of their keyboards.
IMO, if the jawans were the only one polled, a peaecful resolution will come about in a heartbeat.

This all event is now doubtful and I see efforts on Pak media to divert the attention of the public to other issues like memo gate. there are also some signs of end of confrontation between establishment and N$ .Allah jo karta hay behtar hi karta hay ..

The exception that makes the rule.
The Jawans are typically pawns - doing a job, with family like the rest of us. Toning down the rhetoric and working towards a peaceful resolution of this sad incident is what, IMO, the majority of them would prefer.
They dont have a voice because no one actually asks their opinion. Try it and see what the result is. You may be surprised that a majority of them do not share your hawkish stance.
Same applies for anny other country.

I believe at the moment, Pakistan only needs to stop the intruders and not escalate the situation to a full scale war. What we need to arrange for them is a well planned "death with a thousand cuts". Just hold your ground, keep supplies blocked and make necessary arrangements to blow up NDN twice a month or thrice. Afghan resistance is more than enough to break all hell loose on USA, if we stick to our decision on blocking supplies in Pakistan and making NDN unsafe. And i'm sure Russia will be happy to give a helping hand and watch US bleed to death, it is payback time, and it is long due.
We just need to defend our territory and keep morals of our people and troops high by shooting down any and all intruders including drones. A thorough cleansing of traitors inside pakistan should continue alongside (and that includes incompetents as well, civil and military both.) The chamchaas of US will definitely try to scare us of economic situation and what america can do.
However, if it comes to that, pakistan is capable more than enough to take on NATO/US in a full scale war, throw india into the game and it will be well taken care of, but this is with the macho attitude and mutually assured destruction, making sure that when we’ll go down we will take down all the NATO/US interests in Afghanistan, Middle East, in the middle of arabian sea and that foot shaped island in the Indian Ocean. Not to forget India and that filthy little country on the eastern coast of mediterranean sea.

So I take it you have acess to an opinion poll of the Jawans and know for a fact that the majority would prefer a hawkish solution to a solution through discussion?
I also take it you dont care for "secular" positions. you have good company, because people with secular viewpoints are similarly maligned by the right wing in India.
You will also note that m comments were directed towards Jawans of all countries - that they would prefer peace. And it was directetd towards hawks in all countries, who take hawkish positions behind the safety of their computer screens.

No I do not. It is my opinion (using common sense) that Jawans in any country prefer peace, not war. I thought this would have been crystal clear reading my posts!
My comments are directed towards those who are beating the drumbeats of war - to me the chickenhawks need to tone it down in every country. Hope this helps.

yes there is a third option which should really be the first option - why wouldn't Pak army go after any terrorists & terrorist camps in any part of their country - whether it is Haqqani or whatever? The whole NATO reasoning for forays into Pakistan is based on Pak refusal to do that!
