i just found out 2. i called my mom for eid and there she was with the news. bohooo. she is of the thinking that you cant announce and decide a month in advance when eid should be. *' We see the chand to find out when the new month begins.' *

This is crazy. Some mosques said that even though Eid is on Tuesday, they will still do the Eid prayers on Wednesday since they had already announced for Wednesday and that they weren't able to change the plans. They wen't on saying that its sunnah to do the prayers the second day if you can't reach the people to make the announcement. They advised people not to fast on Tuesday since its haram to fast on Eid day (apparantly they were able to get this out on time) CRAZY, I TELL YA.
Few years ago, we had two types of followers. Ones that always followed Sauids and celebrated the same day when Saudis did. The second ones were the ones with the old school and followed the moon sightings. Now we have four types.
1) ones that follow saudis
2) ones that follow Islamic Callenders
3) ones that follow Scientifc Calclulations (you would think that this is same as #2 above but its not)
4) ones that follow the moon sightings.
With every attempt, they have devided only further in the name of unity.

Bara afsos hooa yeh jaan ke keh aap ki aankhain kaam nahin kartien… I guess u missed the ALHAMDOLILLAH in my first post and in the other post I said, that I was just ready for the eid, , but ALHAMDOLILLAH I am going to fast tomorrow INSHALLAH…
