If all teams (in all groups) play according to their rankings, then Team Pakistan will play the following games:

Tue: Apr 3 - vs South Africa
Mon: Apr 9 - vs New Zealand Fri: Apr 13 - vs Australia (Jummay ke mubarak din buhat kutt lagni hai) Sun: Apr 15: vs India (Kon banay ga karore pati)
Wed: Apr 18: vs Sri Lanka
Re: Pakistan in the World Cup - Mark your calendars
i sincerely believe pakistan have a chance of winning this world cup since all the match fixers are no longer with us, not that we know of :-) but, if inzi and yousaf play their best and akhtar keeps his line and length intact and, and they dont day dream whilst fielding and catch all the catches, and especially afridi gets his act togeather and play some real cricket the way he played on his debut, then yea why not, pakistan can do it and especially from their track record they ve played very well in the last few years.
Re: Pakistan in the World Cup - Mark your calendars
Faisal Bhai,
Your assumption is wrong here. Irrespective of whether Pak finishes 1st or 2nd in its group they will play following matches.
Fri: Mar 30 - vs England
Tue: Apr 3 - vs South Africa
Mon: Apr 9 - vs New Zealand Fri: Apr 13 - vs Australia (Jummay ke mubarak din buhat kutt lagni hai) Sun: Apr 15: vs India (Kon banay ga karore pati)
Wed: Apr 18: vs Sri Lanka
As long as Pak qualifies from its group( And I dont see why cant they ) they will be considered D1. Final position in its group will only effect the point that they can carry forward in super league. It doesnt changes Schedule.
They have done the planning in a very decent way. This takes away uncertainty from people’s travelling Plan and doesnt effect anything anyway.
Re: Pakistan in the World Cup - Mark your calendars
Thank you Faisal. It will help planning day offs.
I cannot tell you my method, but according to my calculations, Pakistan has 17% chance of lifting the WC. I have considered, ratio of fully fit players, last 15 ODIs performances etc etc. ICC seed raiting is based last year April's ranking. Which is not exactly a true picture at this moment. Lots of players are injured, half fit, out of form and retired.
Here is the complete list.
Pakistan 17%
NZ 28%
India 14%
England 13%
SL 20%
SA 23 %
WI 38%
Aus 81%
Now pray for miracle. I don't think any team can win big tournaments without solid top order.

Nice Job. I dont know methods you chose but it sound just about right to me. AUS is hot favourite and WI being host have advanatage and their solid top order(Gayle,Chandarpaul,Lara and Sarvan) makes them formidable contender.
But It will be intresting to see how this number changes when all the series currently underway is over. Can you recalculate your numbers after 20th Feb. :p
Re: Pakistan in the World Cup - Mark your calendars
Iss baar tumhay world cup mein itna marein gey kay 20 overs kay baad 535 runs bana kar declare kar dein gey aur phir tumhar team ko 10 overs mein 18 1/2 runs per out. 1/2 run iss liye kay last men half pitch mein run out ho jaye ga. :D
Re: Pakistan in the World Cup - Mark your calendars
Here are my predictions, just to add some mirch masala, otherwise I am not a betting guy at all.
Tue: Mar 13 - vs West Indies
Both Pakistan and West Indies will be under tremendous pressure (first day jitters), and will suck badly. Pakistan will lose a close game.
Sat: Mar 17 - vs Ireland
All guns blazing, Pakistan will dominate the minnows.
Wed: Mar 21 - vs Zimbabwe
After some initial hiccups, Pakistan will win comfortably.
Fri: Mar 30 - vs England
Close match. Pakistan will win.
Tue: Apr 3 - vs South Africa
Again a close match, and this time South Africa will sneak in a victory.
Mon: Apr 9 - vs New Zealand
After some initial hiccups, Pakistan will play a solid game. New Zealand will collapse handing Pakistan a nice victory.
Fri: Apr 13 - vs Australia
Pakistan will have a mental block and lose comfortably.
Sun: Apr 15: vs India
Will be a close game. After several ups and down, Pakistan will win a very close game.
Wed: Apr 18: vs Sri Lanka
Chances are that Pakistan will lose, but depending upon how the points table looks at this time, Pakistan may sneak in with a whisper-thin victory.
Re: Pakistan in the World Cup - Mark your calendars
Thats why they are getting eliminated in group mathes. :D Assume group matches as warmup games except for one game. Real worldcup starts at 27th March.
