Pakistan hopeful over Shabbir

Shabbir Ahmed has been out of international cricket since last December.
Pakistan are hoping that Shabbir Ahmed, the right-arm seamer, will be cleared by ICC for their tour of South Africa early next year.
Shabbir was banned for 12 months for an illegal action after he was reported twice in 2005, the second time coming after the first Test against England at Multan in November. An appeal to get him cleared by the PCB failed.
“His ban ends on December 18 before that we will send him to Australia next month to undergo a biomechanical test to confirm there is an improvement in his action,” a board spokesman told Reuters.
“We have got an appointment with specialists in Australia and hopefully their report would satisfy the ICC.”
Shabbir, who has taken 51 wickets in 10 tests, has had problems with his action since his debut in 1999.
It's a strong possibility that may be the case and may be reported again. So why can't they introduce some fresh faces to the team and start investing for the future instead of relying on these tried and tested players?
Its hard for me to sideline a player for such reasons, but Pakistan"s side needs better and faster bowlers and young blood who may prove to be better physical prospect than any other lanky player in the side at present.
Cricket is fast becoming a game for superfits and gone are the days of hand warming 3 slip fielders! :halo::k:
I think Pakistan should send him to Australia and should make sure he is cleared of chuking, just to save a career of a man. Once he is cleared PAK should allow him to play one ODI, just to prove to the world that he is no more chuking, and after that they should let him play domestic or any county or state games but not in the national team.
Nation team's selectors should avoid any such player with any chances of being called chucker. PAK already prodcued way too many chukers in the side, and this all blame should goes to the domestic officials, who tolerated such players and selectors, who selected them and cause embarassment to the nation.
So helping Shabir to get clear is a good thing and not selecting him for National team is even better.
I think if he is cleared he should be given one more chance. He has the ability to swing the ball both ways and his line and length is usually right on the mark. Shoaib, Asif, Shabbir and Rana playing , wah ji wah.
why the PCB selectors have not given a chance to Anwar Ali, who proved to be the best swing bowler in the under -19 final, rather than trying shabira butta in future
I HAVE NEVER changed my words so quickly, after the events of last few hours where Both Shoaib and Asif are going to get banned possibelly for a Yr. the best quick fix for Pak is calling Shabbir back.
I hope Shabbir doesn't get cleared. They should accompany the U19 bowlers with the national team so they can get ready for the WC. Leave the oldies at home.
Don,t we need Shabbir badly now?
One thing is clear that there,s big difference in class between u-19 level to International cricket,
so we should not assume that if the likes of Anwar and Jamshed have performed well at that level they will automatically do so in test cricket as well,
If Asif and Shoaib get some sortta ban then we will definitely need a bit of experience in pace attack which Shabbir can provide.
51 Wickets in just 10 tests r no Joke and also don,t forget that just last year in WI
he took 14 Wickets in just 2 tests and also bowled well in ODIs and that,s where WC is going to be played next year,
as far as Junior bowlers r concerned they have so far not performed so well in Domestic cricket What will they do in Test cricket,
yeh to wahi baat hui ke, door ke dhool suhane ,
