Pakistan Frees LET Terrorists Chief Hafiz Saeed as expected

The Lahore High Court on Tuesday ordered the release of banned group Jamaat-ud-Dawa chief Hafiz Mohammad Saeed, who had been under house arrest since December 12 last year. Hafiz Mohammed Saeed Hafiz Mohammed Saeed,Jamaat-ud-Dawa cheif, has been released by the Lahore High Court on Tuesday.

Saeed, believed to be the mastermind of the Mumbai terror attacks, is head of the Jamaat-ud-Dawa, a front for terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba.

“The court has ordered that the detention of Hafiz Saeed was a violation of the constitution and the law of this country,” A K Dogar, the lawyer told reporters outside the Lahore High Court.

On December 10, 2008, the UN Security Council had imposed sections on the JuD.

Government sources in India have called Saeed’s arrest by Pakistan authorities ‘an eyewash’.

Saeed’s name figures in the list of terrorists India accuses of orchestrating the November 2008 terror attacks on Mumbai. At least 170 people were killed in the carnage.

The court had on May 5 extended by two months the house arrest of the JuD chief along with one of his close aides and set free two other leaders of the terrorist outfit detained in the wake of the Mumbai attacks.

The JuD chief has earlier moved the Lahore High Court challenging his detention, which he said was unlawful. The petitioner’s counsel submitted that there was no allegation on record against Saeed or his organisation. The counsel said the JuD had never been involved in any terrorist activity in Pakistan and no FIR had ever been registered against it or any of the persons under arrest.

Hafiz Saeed is also the founder of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba.

India can cry all it wants. won’t make a difference when we all know it has a habit of whining all the time about every little thing.

no charges were proven against him, hence he was released because Constitution of Pakistan does not allow any of its citizens to be put under permanent house arrest if the accused is not convicted. Therefore, a court of law set the citizen free because he was NOT proved guilty by the evidence presented against him, or the lack thereof.

btw, shouldn’t this be in PA? :konfused:

Aitzaz Ahsan was under house arrest for longer than this. Surely this guy is a bigger threat to public peace than Aitzaz.

Brother had India’s whining been given honest ears earlier, Pakistan would not have been facing menace of terrorism of worst kind on its soil. Only ur policymakers had to learn language of humanity in spite of language of jihad. Killing is a killing, be it of any Indian or Pakistani. A human life is lost at the end of every bloody day.

This hafiz dude has done enough damage on Indian soil, chances are that he wont be able to strike in India again. But now danger is in Pakistan where a terrorist of his caliber is walking free and that too at a time when Pakistan is itself fighting battle for its survival with none other than terrorists.

So be careful brother, bloody terrorists are walking free on ur soil with approval of ur high courts. No wonder that Pakistani judicial system is considered of world class.

And no it should not be in Pakistan Affair, coz the terrorist we are talking about is of world class and fame.

I appreciate your humble manners, but if things were that cozy and rosey, India too would have acted impartially in the case of Modi the murderer and other 35+ wanted men whose list Pakistan provided to India, who are wanted by Pakistan for terrorism. So, lets not make it a one-sided issue.

Pakistan did what the law required, detained him, tried him, evidence was not sufficient to keep him under arrest and he was released. It's no different than the findings of Modi Commission where he was not only considered "innocent", but went on to get re-elected in a public office. India is in no position to lecture others on how to prosecute suspects.

let him be out. in the current climate, he's going to cause his masters more damage than india. besides, he's just a pawn without the pak army's help along the loc. which aint happening.

Mamaaa Miaaaa! Let me break it down for you:

Pakistan too has a list of Indian citizens who are wanted by Pakistan for their role in terrorism that has been conducted over a period of time. So everytime India shows up with a list, Pakistan shows its own. And the momentum dies down rather quickly. AT LEAST Pakistan went to the measure of arresting him, investigation, and it is the court of law that has freed him. He was not freed at the order of PM/President or any politician.
