pakora, you are unware of how politics are carried around in Pakistan… These independent candidates (in case you didnt know) run independent so that later they could take some rokhra, and join a party that needs his support to form a Government…
Well, just spoke to my mum. PPP has swept Khanewal and Multan. Shah mahmood Qureshi has won, Fakhar Imam has lost from Khanewal, Abida Hussain has also lost against Faisal Saleh from Jhang.
I think had these elections been carried out fairly, the PPPP would have won...

They are losing to the MMA yar...
Well, I must say these elections arent as fun as the 1993 elections, where it was neck to neck b/w the PPP and PML N...
Zavia, Shiekh Rashid won!! Sheeda Tully zindabad!
Another interesting aspect is how the ANP is losing badly...

MMA is even beating ANP in Pashtun strongholds, thats the trend in NWFP, although MMA is very much against Musharraf and his policies.
So of the 114 seats where final results have been announced as yet, the tally is as follows:-
MMA - 34 seats
PML (Q) - 28 seats
PPPP - 26 seats
NA - 5 seats
PML (N) - 5 seats
MQM - 2 seats
PML (F) - 2 seats
PPPP (S) - 2 seats
PML (Z) - 1 seat
IND - 9 seats
The results of 158 seats are still left to come in yet, the bulk of them in Punjab and Sindh, but still all the Balochistan seats to declare and some FATA seats to declare. I think these results are likely to favor the PML (Q) and PPP, as the MMA has probably picked up the greater bulk of its seats in NWFP.
It looks likes the MMA will end up with upto 50 seats.
While the PML (Q) and PPPP are both looking like they will each get in the area of 75 to 80 seats? So it will be a race to see who finishes up in first place.

Thats what Im amazed at!!! I mean the look how badly the PPP and ANP are doing in NWFP!!! They were clearly the two biggest parties there, the PPP I can understand lost its voters cuz of the Sherpao split thingie, but ANP??? The Pakhtuns were very strict when it came to ANP support.
The voting pattern in NWFP suggests that NWFP has given a verdict against Musharraf's actions in Pakistan especially NWFP, in this war against terror.

Well but there is a pattern. Musharraf made sure that no party gains big advantages, and since its going to be some sort of a coalition, his hold on the seat becomes firm...
Oh yes, and the MQM is losing badly in its strongholds, which suggest more trouble to come from the MQM in future...

NA 107, Gujarat PPPP wins.
NA 84, Faisalabad, PML N.
Well, if MQM resorts to violence again it would only alienate its folowers more.
NA 2 Peshawer, MMA wins.
I think MMA will sweep the Pakhtoon majority areas of Quetta and Loralai whilest some Baluchistan national party would dominate the Southern and Western parts of Baluchistan..

They have already declared that these elections were rigged, and the a press conference is expected soon
My prediction: MMA will win enough seats and with coalition of independants, especially from FATA, will form the next government..
BTW: where did Qazi win from..?
