.... umm nevermind
Seems like you were right!
I can only hope that the US continues to 'hail' the elected officials, specially those in NWFP, where the americans have a free reign as of now.
NWFP has seen the emergence, and a possible clean sweep by the Mutahidda majlis-e-amal, a coalition of major religious parties of the country. An average voter turnout of 30% was seen in the tribal areas, which normally have seen much less than that.
Lets see how well this staunchly anti-american-forces-in-pakistan government sits with the US.
Will america respect Pakistans democratically elected officials and their decisions, or will they use the usual blackmail or force tactics to get things done their way?
well i dont agree with this notion
PMLQ is winning most of its seats from Punjab and it was expected that it will happen!! What a rigging that so called favorite of Govt Mian Azhar has lost both his seats ??? come on guys Grow up ![]()
Pakistan Zindabad
This is a great day for Pakistan. Alhumdulillah Democracy is once again taking root in our land! I know it is worrying that the religious parties performed so strongly but they will be constricted by a coalition government that will force them to moderate their views. I actually hope they take part in the coalition government; that way they can stop talking in ideals and see what it actually takes to run a country. One cannot be idealistic when he has to deal with getting food on the table and employing people. Their misguided zeal and hate for India/USA/Israel will do them no good this time. Let us hope democracy sets foot permanently and that people, no matter what their differences, resolve them through dialogue not violence.
Pakistan Zindabad, bravo President Musharraf!
LOL Abdali.... I have'nt seen a more accurate piece of satire for a long time!
I agree with spock if it wasn't for rigging PPPP would have won considerably. MMA winning is a clear indication that rigging was done scientifically to give an impression that it was a fair election. MMA was not even in picture for winning 10 seats :) As for letting Mian Azhar loose well as I said at his jalsa only 4 ppl showed up till the time it was expected to start, so changing the result there would have made it all too obvious. What kinda party can win so many seats when its leader is so unpopular? Aren't political parties all abt leadership? Mian Azhar lost PML (Q) took the lead what a joke!!!
Does anyone know which party within the MMA has won the more seats?
I wouldn't be surprised if a rift occurs among the members of the different fractions of MMA. Regardless of them being part of the ruling collation or not, they will have a significant political pressure and will use it more effectively in the coming years.
Was MMA winning rigging? Early polls from remote areas of NWFP which usually are the last ones to come in, probably hint towards that way. But if this is assumed then I am sure that at many other places the govt. rigged the poll on a grand scale.
oh ajee its obvious there was rigging. NWFP key polling station are miles apart from eachother hamesha hi result dair sey atta hey. MMA ko jitaiya hi iss liey so that they can say it was a fair election.
I dont think there was any rigging. We just have a habit of being suspicious of everything and never to accept anything at face value. There has to be a conspiracy theory to everything and we will clutch at any straws to prove the point.

Pur looton ki baat sunta kaun, waisey bhi with Mushy behind them they couldn't loose. :D
conspiracy theories
fantastic saahib,
with all due respect, is the CIA involved when everday pakistanis take rishwat? Is it rigging when a tribal group decides punish a muslim woman by gang-raping her? sir, we can always find conspiracies to justify our thinking but one should realize that people who do so will never be taken seriously by the mainstream. relying on conspiracy theories makes one appear ignorant of complexities and instead, to reliant on simplistic ideas to make sense in a simple brain.
your suggestion that Musharraf "rigged" the election by making the party he opposes actually win is giving Musharraf way too much credit! the only thing that is plain to me is that you will go to great lengths, bordering on the ridiculous, to maintain your contempt for Mr. Musharraf.
just my .02 cents but i am quite fed up with moronic thinking...i mean get real...
With all due respest MISS TUMS why don't u answer my queries? If they aren't genuine you shouldn't find it difficult o answer them.
I live in this county and I love it and when I see something wrong it my right to protest. Where do u live btw?
And I can say too then that ppl like u would go to any lengths to prove that Mushy didn't do anything wrong but obvios is a little to difficult to reject :p
