The problem has always been desi coaches and managers who are sifarishi. Whenever we have had a desi coach..usually Intikhab or Miandad - they create groupings in the team. Next, the PCB had a revolving door policy with Managers..meaning every tour there would be a new manager...some PCB officials buddy going on foreign tours - the guy would have no management experience, nd because he was sifarishi to begin with...he didnt care if there was any discipline or not.
I don't agree. India had desi coaches too. India's board is also poorly run. the Sri Lankan board is very poorly run as well. how many times have their players revolted against the captain?

That, together with the uneducated nature of the majority of our players...ie half of them have never been to school or graduated from it, leads to lack of discipline and players thinking they are bigger than the game and each other....which ultimately leads to captaincy changes, as everyone thinks they can be captain and everyone has their own agenda.

again, I don't agree. there haven't been too many Imran Khans or Kumar Sangakarra or Anil Kumbles in the teams of the subcontinent. most players have been uneducated. just because someone can speak English doesn't make them educated.
is Tendulkar educated? or Sehwag? or Murali? or Mendis? was Kapil Dev educated? none of them are/were heavyweight intellectuals or have any higher education credentials behind them. how many times have you heard of the Indian or Sri Lankan team revolting against its captain? and not just once but over and over again.

Poor PCB management, poor desi coaches, sifarishi managers, and uneducated players - all contribute to this mess.

that word is the key imo. yes these things contribute to the mess. because of these conditions, players know that they can get away with being indisciplined. but these things are not the driving force for every onga bonga player lusting after the captaincy and thinking it is his birth right.
unprofessionalism of the players, the management and the board makes it easier for players to get away with their shenanigans. but the reason why they constantly revolt against captains is something else. just because you can get away with something doesn't mean you're going to do it. knowing that you can get away with it certainly helps. but the primary/main motivation has to come from somewhere else.
if I had to guess I'd say it has to be something financial. the captain must get some sort of perk or must make a lot more money than the rest of the team which is why everyone wants to become the captain and is willing to do the most underhanded thing to get there.
