although confused is not the right word at all i think i am getting ur point.

muslims abroad do seem to be better muslims(majority or minority i dunno),new converts r the best of all (they chose bcoz they realized the truth),paki muslims like me take our faith for granted(the majority) period.but trend is changing i assure u,young r increasingly turning to islam n researching instead of following blindly.

by the way ur post seems to have been stimulated thru ur lack of confidence in ur own identity,no offence mate.

Let me further explain myself. when we point fingers at a kid born and raised in Toronto who does not act in a manner which is consistent with what some people consider to be with being a Pakistani he is called a confused desi. It can be anything, not speaking his mother tongue, not wearing traditional clothes, not having an interest in his culture whatever.

I am simply wondering if we apply the same magnifying glass to people in general who are living in pakistan and were born and raised there, do there actions meet the threshhold of being ‘not confused’ and displaying all attributes the deviation from which gets foriegnborn desis a label of confused.

This is not limited to burgers or whatever. Are the chichoras on tariq road groping women confused about their identity and what it means to be a Pakistani, what about people following hindu traditions in their weddings.

While I do appreciate your respopnses, I have to clarify that the post is merely an exercise to help some pakistan born pakistanis do some introspection. I have complete confidence in my identity, confused by some people standards or not confused
