while I continue to see stereotypical statements being issued about foriegn born desis..abcds, bbcdc, cbcds etc, I wonder if all Pakistan Born Desis are perfect pakistanis and msulims.
Looking at the crap that goes on in Pakistan, it only means two things, either majority of Pakistano born desis are confused as hell themselves in one way or another..or…what goes on in Pakistan is part and parcel of someone being a real 100% authentic Pakistani.
so aside from the tiny minority that makes up burgers and mummy dassy log, the rest of the population is 100% 'pakistani' or 100% what a Pakistani should be like, act like, speak like?
or atre their multiple types of confusions, some that apply to mummy daddy types, others that apply to lalukhetia types, further more that apply to mullah types and then others that apply to paindu jageerdaar types?
ashtray, hey I am not the one who have claimed to be more Pakistani than someone else :) so whether or not I take the cake/pudding/halwa/baklava/parsaad of confusion is a diff topic, unless you are trying to divert the issue and make this a thread about me.
I am a global citizen and thus should consider united nations as my own, err no world bak would be better.
whats the "siht" shyt?
oh and just to correct you, while I lived in saudi Arabia, I have never claimed to be saudi, nor do I consider KSA as anything more than a place I happened to live in because my father had a job there. As far as Indian goes, while my heritage is from areas which are now part of India, I dont think I have ever called myself Indian.
so coming back to the topic. Are people who were born and raised in Pakistan, are they or are they not confused. look at any socioeconomic group, any sort of demograhics..rural, urban, educated, uneducated and let me know.
Since I am confused ;) would someone who is not confused shed some light on the presence or absence of en masse confusion in Pakistan.
Well, although I try not to make this about you, I just cant help it:D . The answer to the above query depends on where you were born. If you were born abroad, then looking at your above reply and the references to UN and World bank and what not, Pakistani borns are geniuses. If you were born in Pakistan, then I conclude the PBDs to be totally confused fukks:D
the question remains...are people in Pakistan good examples of what it is to be a Pakistani? or just as people born and raised abroad are looked at and then considered confused, people in Pakistan are confused as well.
what is it to be an un-confused Pakistani? and do people in pakistan meet this standard of pakistani-ness?
No, I am not confused.
what confusion are we talking about anyway?
I was born, raised and educated in Pakistan, from calss one to MBA. And am damn proud of it.
although confused is not the right word at all i think i am getting ur point.
muslims abroad do seem to be better muslims(majority or minority i dunno),new converts r the best of all (they chose bcoz they realized the truth),paki muslims like me take our faith for granted(the majority) period.but trend is changing i assure u,young r increasingly turning to islam n researching instead of following blindly.
by the way ur post seems to have been stimulated thru ur lack of confidence in ur own identity,no offence mate.
firstly being ‘X’ BCD is not a bad thing. Just because generally these folks have more curiousity about the culture and when told they dont fully understand most of the time for example
The ever-so-important Hijaab. I can not understand why they have this obsession.
Similarly regarding family ties/politic/trash ( Ok I admit, I find it confusing too )
People raised in Pakistan can be duly labled as confused about western countries. I my self is totally confused about homosexual lifestyle and obsession with pets. So I am certified confused
People in Pakistan are confused too. You would be too if you were told that to mean anything in the country, your education must be in a foreign language following a foreign board, your higher education must be from a foreign university, your job must be with a foreign corporation, wear foreign clothes, adapt foreign ideas, and look down upon everything Pakistani because nothing of ours is good enough.
hmmmmm.very very confusing.to mean something and a lot more…
english has ceased to be a foreign language, its a necessity therefore normality
local education is very good too
local unis r very good too
multinat ka i agree but 60 percent only
local clothes r good too
and lastly
who cares abt those who look down ,actually they r too weak to do anything constructive themselves ,havent got the strength to be trend setters, havent got the balls to go against the flow so they mean nothing (at least to me).but ur right,u know they wud buy CRAP from USA,encased in a glassbox n gaze at it in rapture.
Hell yeah we are good examples of wat has become of pakistan now,we cheat we lie we r hypocrites we ‘sinkofy’ our heritage as muslims if thats wat u r getting at but we r the opposite too.its a grey zone ,not just black n white.
evryone is confused and everyone is quite clear at the same time in different dimensions n parameters.
i honestly dont know wat that means, life raises questions for the thinking person at evry step me thinks, its a constant learning process..confusion strikes evryone at some point in life i think.wether they think or dont.
if ur query is regarding the issue of practising islam n being muslim i have already answered yaar.
Blame it on PACC (Pak American Cultural Centre.. in Karachi, Cantt area). Theyre churning out more confusion than is absorbable. I went there for summer school in the summer of '86. Its taken 20 years to wear the confusion off.
