^^ The difference is that in those cases, the end consumer chose not to use those products. Anyone who disagreed could still go ahead.
In this case, an organization has established monopoly control over a service and then disenfranchised some of its customers based on its own political stand.
Very bad precedent for the long run.

If there is not an order from the government to block BBC, although I doubt it, then perhaps the cable operators are considering adding a new channel that plays popular item numbers like Chamak Chalo, Sheila jawani, Muni Badnam hui, etc non-stop? If so, that is a brilliant idea. That channel will keep most Pakistanis happy, engaged, and distracted, and by doing so will save the rest of the world much of the trouble emanating from Pakistan! :)

How can Kashmir be shows as part of either India or Pakistan, when its status according to the United Nations is that of a contested territory? By international law, it is part of neither country.

But Kashmir is a disputed territory and only Kashmiris have the right to decide what they want. This is what the UN resolutions say.

BBC World Service covers regions where they feel the media may not be as free as in a democractic country. The BBC World Service is not funded by the TV License fee as the rest of the BBC is but by the Government. Although this will change.
Why is the documentary Secret Pakistan hated by so many here? It does not criticise the Pakistani people. It does not even criticise the elected Government. In fact I feel itwill give Pakistanis the chance to think of the role the Military ad ISI play in Pakistan and how in most cases it is negative.
