Anybody remember when was the last time that we had topped the rankings?
I would still say Pak team is unpredictable and its this very unpredictibility that makes it so exciting to watch. You can never be sure of what tricks they have in the bag. And no these ratings are not a slap on my face, these are a slap on the faces of people who time and again level accussations :) For me Pak was the team, it is the team and it will be the team. But no that doesn't mean I won't point out the mistakes but believe me unpredictibility is a positive aspect of our cricket. We are not technical like the aussies, nor mechanical like the South-Africans, We are the unpridictable lot, which is most exciting to watch.
Fanta, your'e right, Pakistan still isn't a perfect team, they have alot of fixing to do but calling them inconsistent or unpredictable isn't true, they have performed better than any other in the last six months, take Australia for example, they play badly at home against NZ and SA then they go to SA and humiliate their team in their home, and they loose to Pakistan.
South Africa has been very similiar and look how bad Srilanka is playing on current tour of England, if you take all those losses from other teams and look at Pakistan's record Pakistan is still the best one day team in the world.
Hisotry is history, people keep bringing back 99 wc final or natwest final, that was very different lineup and Pak has changed very much since then and last 6 months they have played like the best team in the world.
Umair I am not saying Pakistan is not the best team or it doesn't deserve to ve on top. But its true Pak team is unpredictable, not because its unconsistent but because its unique in style. If you look at Aussies everything they do is well planned and calculated making them technical. Our team on the other hand comprises of players that learn only after coming to national team, thus improving with every game. That is what makes this team so god to watch. Nothing they do is copy book style!!!
No we didn't loose the world cup because of incosistency nor match-fixing reasons for that were different. Yes this is a very good Pak side amd lets hope they do well and bring home the world cup once more. More than anyone else Wasim Akram deserves to hold that trophy in his hands once more.
One more thing No i don't want my team to be PERFECT, i like its flair and 'rawness'. All i want to see is our batting to improve a little, if our batsmen learn to play with just a little more responsibility, we may well be on top of the world for long long time to come.
wow!! that is sooooo plaesing to hear. i knew pakistan would make it some day. we can beat any team any day if we put our full concentration in to it that is!i dont think that we would have won the super challenge series at melbourne and brisbane without shoaib akhter. his performance was truly amazing. i wish that pakistan plays well in the future too and wins the world cup. inshahallah we will.
Look at the thread NatWest Series ODIs - England, Sri Lanka, India how PAK is participating the celebration for india but look here none of em like they don’t even exist on this forum
Don't need to invite the people who can never see Pakistan happy and on top of the world, they would start calling names like because of chuckers we are on top.
