Now come on ppl, don't be shy. Say something nice. Pak is the #1 one day team in the world.

There is one ranking going on in my village .Where lallu,bantu and pappu have also decided to put Pakistan as top oneday team.

Congrats..great Job.

The last time I saw those winking eyes when pak lost the first one day against australia.
what happend now, I thought Pak can't beat Australia.

I know it hurts but please do comment if you like.

Pakistan might be the best team, but this rating system is CRAP!!

[quote]
About the AQB ratings system

The AQB (Active, Quality-Based) Rating System uses historical data to assign relative performance ratings to each team in the chosen sport. The base for the rating system is the first game in that sport, and ratings begin from that date. Ratings are recalculated after every game, and the new ratings are used for that teams next game. The ratings system uses the following formulae to calculate the new rating for both teams after each game:

For games that are non-drawn:

Rn = Ro + R * (B + H + D * K)

Where:

Rn is the teams new rating

Ro is the teams old rating

R is the result variable:

R = +1 if the team won
R = -1 if the team lost

B is the base ratings change for any result:

Currently B = 20

H is the home advantage variable:

H = -4 if the home team wins
H = 4 if the away team wins
H = 0 for a game played on neutral ground

D is the difference in ratings of the two teams, as follows:

D = Ro of losing team - Ro of winning team

K is the weighting applied to the ratings difference:

Currently K = 0.0625

For games that are drawn:

Rn = Ro + Rd * (B + H + Dd * K)

Where:

Rd is the result variable:

Rd = 0.25 if the team was the lower rated before the game
Rd = -0.25 if the team was the higher rated before the game

Rd = 0 if both teams had the same rating before the game

Dd is the difference in ratings of the two teams, as follows:

Dd = Ro of higher rated team - Ro of lower rated team

The following general rules also apply:

A winning teams rating will never decrease. A losing teams rating will never increase.
In the case of a drawn result, the lower rated team will never have the higher rating as a result of the game (once home advantage is taken into account). If this would happen, both teams final rating (Rn) is equal to the average of the two ratings before the game.
The base rating for all teams is generally 1000. Exceptions are listed in the database notes for each rating.
Any specific alterations to the above rating system are listed in the database notes for each rating.

Thats why I gave example os my Village’s rating.

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/wink.gif

No, because your’e just jealous of Pakistan’s success, and know definatley for sure that India will never win anything.
I can careless about the rankings or ratings, the only reason I started this thread was to prove those wrong who called Pakistanis inconsistent.

Two points. Pakistan is being shown as number one by more than one rating system and under whichever system you are coming first it still means you are better then the other teams. If the system is rubbish then it applies to all the teams equally, so there is consistency in that.

Secondly, it would be nice to see our brothers from across the border accepting the fact that currently Pakistan is at the head of ODI listings. It might change in the next few months but at least congratulations are in order for the moment.

Ehsan, We will Agree that Pakistan is no. one team in the world, But at the same time would you and your countrymen agree that Pakistan is at 7th spot in Test Playing nations.

When we present the cricinfo or any other rating system which says Pakistan is not no. one all my friends from across the border dismiss it by saying that these ratings are CR*P and what not and not that some rating agency has put Pakistan on the top, you guys are killing us.

Since you guys are so adament - Here is an EYE OPENER RATING, Now tell me do you guys believe that rating ??

Who said anything about test matches, yes Pakistan is average in test but the main reason I started this thread was to talk about one day, and since you couldn't reply for a long time and now your'e coming back to test matches.
Even if Pakistan is 7th in the table, I still think they are the third best test country after Australia and South Africa.

OK that has to be the stupidist table I have seen, you get more points for winnig world cup than normal matches, that is pathetic, and you can figure, these type of ratings are only updated when Pakistan is not on the top.
why not give equal points for all the matches played and see who is on the top.
PAKISTAN!

Well if they give equal points to all the matches then PAK will be on top but nah they don’t want that

I am not coming back to test matches. It was just an example pointing EHSAN that you believe what you want to. You dont think a rating like ICC is correct just because it says PAKISTAN is no. 7. You still think that Pak is no. 3.

Who cares about what you think - You think Afridi is next Richars and has a similar style.

Once again you prove my point - Since you dont like it - You are saying it is the most stupid table you have seen. Please dont tell me that it is an International conspiracy to Put Pakistan at the bottom of ODI rankings.

About your logic of world Cup points - Let me tell you Pakistan won more or equal no. of matches in World Cup than SA and SL and they got more or equal points for their victories in World Cup.

WOW!

So much hatred of Indians towards Pakistan

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/hehe.gif

The only reason I started this thread was to show those who said Pakistan is inconsistent, not to bash India or any other country, thats the only reason I presented the figures.
You don't have to care about what I think as long as all my Pakistani brothers agree with me, no one cares about what you think.
I don't know if you remember Richards playing but he had similiar style but different thinking then Afridi, watch the old tapes and you will see his favirote shots which he used to hit like afridi at mid on, I never said Afridi is better than him.
