I wonder how many pakistani feel about Pakistan being an Islamic country by its birth.
We know no matter how Pakistani feel about Pakistan, the world will continue to think of Pakistan as Islamic country and some non-muslim countries will continue to act against Pakistan either by media, political channels or by acts of espionage.
Should that make us think otherwise and revise our policies, laws or social structure? Please comment.
With time, friendship changes everywhere. As long as the nation at large benefits from it.
Essentials of the country's value must remain same, however.
legal, social and policy changes cannot occur under a militart dictatorship - because one man or a very small group of men - can make anything legal or illegal by their fancy. Truly progressive change cannot be sustained under an artificial environment.
I would disagree. As long as they are sticking to the essentials of the country’s value and national safety and well being, it does not matter who runs the country or how the group is selected or elected.
This is a strange question, if pakistan was'nt islamic? Its a blessing that i am a muslim i don't wish for pakistan to become a kuffar state. Because even then the kuffar are no happy do you not remember Bosnia the muslims there where like the serbs they used to drink alcohol, they intermarried between the xstians and muslims they mixed so much you could say they like brothers then what happen time of war the serbs didnt forget and they raped and killed the muslims moral of the story as the koran tell us the kuffar will never be happy untill you leave your deen completely and even then they not satisfied!
Let me rectify Deedawar, Pakistan was created in the name of Islam. No doubts about it.
Despite being a Pakistan lover, I don't think Pakistan was ever a 100% Islamic country, yeah may be 20 % I guess. We have not reached to that point even once. We have made Islam a JOKE and mockery in Pakistan.
Here is why I think political reform is a necessary first step.
Economic progress requires the private sector - domestic and international. Unless investors trust that there will a stable policy and legal environment, they will go elsewhere. Without political reform (meaning transition of Pakistan to a non-military non-dictatorial form of govt)
Social structure is even more difficult to change - the leading edge strata has to show significant and consistent tangible progress in their well being that is perceived as desirable by the 'less willing' thus motivating thme to adopt ways of the leading edge. And for accruing a critical mass of such 'leading edge' guess what is a pre-req? Economic Progress. Which takes us back to the earlier paragraph.

You are such a lucky person. It is better to not understand what that person writes coz most of the times what he writes is trash and is a wastage of hardware space I suppose...
If you have read one post of his, you have read them all.
Afghanistan...its immediate neighbor, a Muslim country rejected to recognize Pakistan from the day one. These two countries had a very little period of understanding...the Taliban era (in last 57 years).
thank god pakistan is not a 100% islamic country… i shudder whenever i imagine what it would be like if it were so…
women would walk around in the blistering heat in tents
ofcourse they cant go out without mehrams (daddy, bro, hubby)
ofcourse they cant drive (saudi arabia)
no good tv shows/ concerts/ no junoon
these are just a few examples…
It depends on what we mean by an Islamic country, dose that mean a country with majority Muslim population? or a country which has the Islamic Shria as its supreme law? or country which has a mixture of Shria and Secular judicial systems, or a secular government with majority Muslim population, so what is an Islamic country?
