We have to wait for video. Nawaz Sharif is not that expressive. Altaf Bhai is Oscar winning personality :D
Yeah. Altaf is the ONLY bad guy in Pakistan! Sigh.
Altaf's talk was loose but there was a reason he got taken away. It is because the kind of reaction he felt to receive about Urdu speaking people. I did not want to repeat it, but tell me what a person would think if he is called with derogatory names, and reminded that they don't belong to this place (sons of soil)? Some people in Sindh used to issue threats that Urdu speaking either have to leave Pakistan or will be thrown in Arabian Sea.
In the end, this is the kind of statement that comes out of that person's mouth.
But the main point is that his policies are not against Pakistan, and he has no relationship with RAW or anyone.
In case of Nawaz, I don't like him but I am pretty sure that he did not mean to say that India and Pakistan are one country, as quoted by that Indian channel.
We do not mingle with Hindus but we can live side by side in harmony. Here in the west we live together.
Living with people in harmony is one thing but living in harmony with a country which refuses to resolve an important border dispute is another.
I also have many Indian friends but that does not mean that I forget Kashmir dispute.
It would have been very easy for him to make a deal with the establishment like BB did with her NRO.. and come to power with a compromised stance. looking at his popularity and dismal PPP performance establishment would have gone all the way with him. He has not done it.. and taken a huge political risk by not towing their line. .
Hasnt he already benefited from the same NRO that BB benefited from? From what I understand, he still had 5 more years of 'exile' left in his deal when he came to Pakistan.
Army has been on the sidelines ever since Musharraf left. Nawaz Sharif is simply capitalizing on the army's aloof stance. I dont see any courage or determination in his approach. He is daring a tiger that is not interested in fighting. Policy wise, he is repeating the same stupid approach that bankrupted banks during his first tenure, and brought the country on the verge of a default in his second tenure.
Nawaz is an opportunist. Had he been half the statesman that he claims to be, he would have stuck around during Musharraf's tenure, and fought it out with him from jail. But he chose the luxurious life of Jeddah, leaving his party members behind. And from my sources tell me, the armed forces hate his guts, so I doubt that the establishment would have made life easier for him, if they had wished to be involved.

sorry bhai, we have agreed to disagree on the point Altaf is not equal to Urdu speaking community. You can carry on with this, but I will neither go through your this post nor will comment.
I did not say that Altaf represents ALL Urdu speaking people. And I did not say that people who use vile language against Urdu speaking people represent ALL Pakistanis. I even did not say that what Altaf said was correct.
I was just giving the background/reason behind such an 'outrageous' statement coming from him.
Diference in how it was said, or difference in person saying it. It’s about time we stopped issuing certificates of “traitor” to the words of people we don’t like.

got you bro, but no one knows intentions behind someone's statements.
itna bada dil Pakistaniyon ka On a serious note, we people are afraid of diversity of cultures. We have to go thorough a long journey with existing part of the country, because we have not been told theories like this:
“Peace is not unity in similarity but unity in diversity, in the comparison and conciliation of differences.”
I agree, the issue with the countries made throughout Asia is that they are not completely homogenous. Social re engineering is needed to come up with statements like ‘India and Pakistan are one country’, it’s better to improve the countries we have got and establish peaceful relations with the neighbours.
Majority of Pakistanis want to live in harmony with everyone in the world including India..
If some of our state sponsored groups do terrorism anywhere in the world (it has happened in the past), it's an embarrassment for all of us. We would like to ensure this does not happen in future..

No one is issuing anyone certificates, but if you accept the premise of AH's argument than you're accepting the fact that creation of Pakistan was a mistake. That is what he said; however, that is not what NS said. NS wants open/cross border trade and good relationship with India. What is wrong that? The only people who benefit form continues warfare with India are generals and military establishment. They need a boogeyman for their survival and relevancy & huge military spending.

I think the main gist was that partition was a blunder so india should allow muhajirs to come back to india. That is another topic that barring some muhajirs, I think the bigger community is very kattar Pakistani.
