Pakistan among 'most negatively perceived' countries: BBC poll

:salam2:

Pakistan has been ranked second in the list of most negatively rated countries in the world by a global poll for BBC World Service, which surveyed **24,090 **people around the world.

Pakistan was rated “mostly negative” by **51% **of the respondents, getting placed just one spot above the most negatively rated country – Iran, which was rated negative by 55% of the total respondents, reports The Express Tribune.

Most of the respondents blamed Pakistan’s foreign policy and the poor treatment of its citizens for such a widespread negative perception of the country.

According to the poll results, Pakistan is the only country that rated its own influence as negative.

The survey results revealed that a negative view of Pakistan was found mostly in Western countries. Around 75% Americans, 69% Canadians and 72% Australians said Pakistan’'s influence in the world is mainly negative. The pattern of negative perception was similar in the European countries. The view of Pakistan by India was negative as well.

Hardy surprising… These days most Pakistanis would rate it negative as well… Does Pakistan have any friends left?

Re: Pakistan among 'most negatively perceived' countries: BBC poll

a negative view of Pakistan has mainly formed due to western propaganda this is what they want ! to support their illegal and inhuman actions! they have always fooled their awam and the rest of the world

Re: Pakistan among 'most negatively perceived' countries: BBC poll

Pakistanis are responsible for their own misery.

Re: Pakistan among 'most negatively perceived' countries: BBC poll

I differ here. Few pplz of Pakistan is responsible for that not all Pakistanis.

Re: Pakistan among 'most negatively perceived' countries: BBC poll

Re: Pakistan among ‘most negatively perceived’ countries: BBC poll

Re: Pakistan among 'most negatively perceived' countries: BBC poll

"Iran, which was rated negative by 55% of the total respondents"

if pakistan is responsible for their own misery
iran is not going through any chaos... like Pakistan ....so why Iran is listed as the most negatively percieved nation?

Re: Pakistan among ‘most negatively perceived’ countries: BBC poll

Maybe the voters are Pakistan Origin Iranis

Re: Pakistan among 'most negatively perceived' countries: BBC poll

In 2000 before all this mess of war in terror and it's fallout on Pakistan began we were still viewed negatively in the world. Media has a big role and now during the past 10 years we have been in the news for all the wrong reasons.

Re: Pakistan among 'most negatively perceived' countries: BBC poll

The negative impression does not require everyone in the country doing something crazy. Its few crazies mullahs shouting "death to America/Nato....(fill in blank)" while drinking Pepsi are responsible for creating negative image of Pakistan. Of course, it does not help when govt/army/courts are in bed with jihadist...who want global dominance through use of terrorism.

Re: Pakistan among 'most negatively perceived' countries: BBC poll

AS! I never came across a news where they presented something in positive about Pakistan.

Shamraz Bhai! Terrorist have no religion but whenever there is any news about terrorist or terrorism. Jahand and Muslims comes at first followed by Pakistan as it is an Islamic Republic.

Re: Pakistan among 'most negatively perceived' countries: BBC poll

^
1. A terrorist maybe a Hindu,Buddhist,Christian or Athiest. But only an Islamist uses his scripture to justify terrorism.

  1. Unfortunately almost every person arrested for terrorism related charge all over the world is: a. A Pakistani b. A foreigner of Pakistani origin, or c. A foreigner who has visited Pakistan for training .

These are facts, unfortunate for 99.9% of Pakistanis, but still facts that one can not deny.

Re: Pakistan among 'most negatively perceived' countries: BBC poll

This all b'coz so called Foreign Missions of Pakistan do nothing to protect their citizens in foreing country. I doubt if they ever visited them in jail or hired a lawyer to follow-up/proceed his case.

Re: Pakistan among 'most negatively perceived' countries: BBC poll

Its because the media keeps harping on about Afghanistan. They need someone to blame. And of course you would expect it in the US, Canada and Australia. They are the major contributing countries to NATO.

Re: Pakistan among ‘most negatively perceived’ countries: BBC poll

All Pakistan has to do is “to toe the US line” and over night Pakistan will become the beesHt country in the world. All Pakistanis will become the moral equivelent of America’s founding fathers, don’t believe me, alright see for your self.

Reagan: Taliban ‘moral equivalent of America’s founding fathers’ | Citizens for Legitimate Government

Guys once you figure out why the west is foaming at mouth w.r.t. Pak you will automatically flush such garb down the drain

Re: Pakistan among ‘most negatively perceived’ countries: BBC poll

24090 people are now representing 6 Billions some people of the world :bummer:

I can say it without any fear of contradiction that we can find double that amount of people within Pakistan who will never perceive pakistan negatively :snooty:

Re: Pakistan among 'most negatively perceived' countries: BBC poll

Our image stands tarnished like never before, there is no doubt about it.

Re: Pakistan among 'most negatively perceived' countries: BBC poll

I agree. When people insult their elected president, pm and all who are in power, this reflect on people themselves. Many times I have said that. Take a case of Raymond Davis, who killed two people but America never allowed Paki courts for trial in Pakistan. Here CJ, every day wants to be on the main page of the news papers for insulting parliament, constitution, head of state etc, violating all norms of decency. He went on to extent to hand over President of Pakistan to Swiss Courts. If he had guts he would have tried President in his own court instead of a foreign court. In every gatherings in America, Pakistanis abuse Zardari, PPP and all who are in power. Local don't think that Paki leaders are bad. They think that all Pakis are stupid, corrupt. I would also think the same way when I hear nonsense against key people of any country.

People had lots of differences with Obama's policies. Never ever heard of any American using profanity, third class language against him unlike in this forum too. This reflect on their mentality and the way they have been brought up.
