According to the Daily Newspaper EXPRESS of 29th May,2009 today, Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Salman said that Pakistan has the technology to bomb out the American drones but in that case if American drones would be shot down then the US would also send it’s air bombers alongwith drones to protect them from any PAF air and ground attack and in this case there would be a large possibility of a war between Pakistan and USA, NATO Forces. Now it’s the choice of the government and parliament that either it wants the American drones to be shot down or not. And are we able to handle a war these days?
He said that Pakistan does not have drones like America but we do have unmanned spy air crafts which are used in case of American drones. PAF had already shot down an Indian spy aircraft in Qasur in 2002. The matter is not to shot down the drones because we do have technology to shoot down drones also but the thing is that what would be it’s after effect in case of war between Pakistan, USA and NATO Forces. Moreover as India has get AWACS System but Pakistan also has technology to handle it. Pakistan will also get an early warning system in October this year which will provide facility to Pakistan to keep observation on 300 Km area inside the Indian territory.
PAF is purchasing latest F-16s and BVR Missiles of 500 amount from america.
He said that we have also largely succeeded in war against talibans in Malakand and we have been able to destroy their weapon dippus there. And Insha Allah PAF will succeed against talibans.
Now, the thing to consider is that yes Pakistan does not have situation now a days to have a war but on the other side, USA and NATO forces also do not have the capacity to deal with a new war against nuclear state. USA is already facing a financial crisis due to these wars and it does not have capacity to deal with another war against Pakistan Armed Forces. They have already been badly failed against only talibans and if they have been winning in Pakistani controlled areas against talibans too then it was only becoz of our armed forces. Otherwise, none of them could dare tackle with Pakistan Armed Forces in case of war becoz at one end they would face attacks from talibans in Afghanistan and on the other hand from Pakistani forces.
And on the other hand, if India also attacks Pakistan and makes a sandwitch between USA, NATO and INDIA, then Pakistan has a choice of China also to intervene in the situation who would also not let USA make it’s influence strong in the region against it with the help of India. Because china also has conflicts with India as well as with America so China would also not be in the situation to let both these evil countriz succeed and surround china.
So, to say and be afraid of these evil forces is not the way. Afterall we could not let those evil stupids attack and martyer our ppl who are largely the citizens and civilians killed in drone attacks.
So, I don’t agree with air marshal,s view he is just afraid of evil forces and nothing else.

Just for the record, Pakistan has previously shot down Indian drone which was smaller, so shooting down American drones (which are bigger) should not be a problem either. It's the green signal to do it that never seems to come from GoP.

my baby PAF must shoot down US Drones in order to prevent it's country's citizens from the US terrorism and by the way if you are a non muslim then just mind ur own language we are muslims and in Islam Jihad is farz, not a jihad like as talibans are doing terrorism and calling it jihad but the real jihad off whipping out the traitors and the enemies of Islam from the entire world if they do brutality and practically implement Islam.

It is obvious from several news sources now that both current and past Pakistani governments are complicit in drone attacks. US drones offer Pakistani governments the ability to carry out attacks within Pakistan that cause collateral damage without taking the blame themselves - instead they can point fingers and make noises about American attacks not helping.

these drones alone have taken out key al qaeda and taliban members who could have launched terrorist attacks and have killed thousands of Pakistanis
Imagine if Meshud or Radio Mullah were taken out in these drone attacks.....so much lives could have been saved

In a nut shell, Pak army and Airforce is the American Police in Pakistan nothing else.
