Paki Yobs in the UK

seems at the time a British firm called Gammon got the contract to build the Dam, and the offer to take the displaced peoples came from UK!, they could have moved to Lahore or any other city in Pakistan.........UK was more attractive with jobs waiting in the Booming Industries in UK.

May be we should ask some Mirpuri's why they opted for UK?

Re: Paki Yobs in the UK

One thing I do have a huge problem with is the fact that when Terrorism comes into play, these British born second and even third generation Pakis are identified as Pakistani. I think our Foreign Office is correct in saying that their extremist was born or developed in the UK not Pakistan, so why is Pakistan's reputation besmirched?

Re: Paki Yobs in the UK

No1 seen no ghetto areas? Sheeeeeeee :|

This is so true, an Indian friend of mine whose dad was an accountant 'back home' moved over to the UK and had to end up working as a security guard but emphasised that all his kids must work hard and get a proper education. It's quite sad seeing the difference in attitude between them and us, a lot of Pakistanis seem to want things handed to us on a plate whilst other ethnic groups come over and really make an effort to build a better life for themselves. For example, most Pakistani taxi drivers instead of encouraging their daughters and sons to go to uni just want to get them married off in their teens and therefore continue the cycle of underachievement, Course there are Pakistani professionals and well educated young ppl but as a percentage we should be ashamed of ourselves that many of our communities have been here 30/40yrs yet still achieved so little..

Re: Paki Yobs in the UK

I dont think they're copying local culture, ravage. That's the problem. They're living in bubbles, in ghettos, where they only get raised in the narrow-minded culture their parents have raised them with. And that's all they know, because they refuse to assimilate and learn from other cultures. Their hatred and racism causes such barriers. Now why move to the UK if you really dont like the people that much? Could it have been greed?

Is that, the basic problem plaguing Pakistanis today? Our focus on materialism? Our greed? Is this where our values now lie? Because if we answer this question honestly, it might give us an insight on why we're so different than Indians and how people view us and treat us so differently.

Vaise, other minorities are raised in the UK, and mostly, its the muslims who espouse the anti-western idea, so muslim roots have something to do with it.

Re: Paki Yobs in the UK

I think it's more of a Pakistani and Bangladeshi Muslim thing than just a general Muslim problem cos other Muslim communities (Arabs, Turks, Iranians, black Muslims, small no of Indian Muslims) don't seem as insular and so on and aren't as looked down on as we are.. In Golders Green in London for example there are many Arab Muslims and Jews who live side by side quite happily and don't separate themselves willingly (tho u'd think they might do due to what's happening in the Middle East) in the way there are places where there are Asian-only streets and and White-only streets up north.

Ditto!

The Arabs who we like to label as dirty extremist Wahhabi's are quite well integrated and very westernised inspite of being quite devoted to their religion.

Same with Iranians, Kurds, Turks, Iraqis..

Most Pakistanis in the UK come from families which belong to very Sufi sects yet inspite of this they're very hateful.

It's just plain racism, religiousism has little to do with it, it does come into play when it comes to politics and world affairs like Palestine but this is just another excuse for these "Rude Boyz" to cause trouble and be gangsterish rather than a genuine concern for the Ummah's welfare.

Although I have noticed we Pakistanis sometimes do like to make themselves feel important and act like the Ummah's welfare is our theka compared to other Muslim ethnicities. Arabs are quite happy to get along with Jews, Hindus and everyone but Pakis put themselves and their community in the limelight.

The only real rift and the cause of wars between the Muslim world and the West is on the issue of Israel, I think if the Mizrahi (Middle Eastern) Jews and Palestinians Muslims and Christians were given the Holy Land to share and live in according to their own Halakha/Shariah whilst the Ashekenazi (European) Jews were given a country in Europe (a province carved out of Germany), there'd be no issues between the Muslim and Western world or the Jews and we'd all live happily ever after..

The yobs didnt move to the UK did they. They grew up here. Furthermore, from what I've seen of them, the values they imitate are hardly desi, but what they like to think are 'ghetto' values. They copy the trendsetters in their economic peers, all that gangsta stuff from the 90s that never seems to go out of style.

This behaviour would not be the norm in the narrow minded culture of their parents. This is not how their parents behaved, so clearly they're taking it from their environment.

I do think we are too materialistic.

Is it Muslim or Pakistani? As other posters point out, Arabs by and large arent 'yobs' here. I think that has to do with their better living conditions. As far as London goes, they live in the best part of the city, and consequently are integrated with the kind of population that surrounds them (white loge)
