This is so true, an Indian friend of mine whose dad was an accountant ‘back home’ moved over to the UK and had to end up working as a security guard but emphasised that all his kids must work hard and get a proper education. It’s quite sad seeing the difference in attitude between them and us, a lot of Pakistanis seem to want things handed to us on a plate whilst other ethnic groups come over and really make an effort to build a better life for themselves. For example, most Pakistani taxi drivers instead of encouraging their daughters and sons to go to uni just want to get them married off in their teens and therefore continue the cycle of underachievement, Course there are Pakistani professionals and well educated young ppl but as a percentage we should be ashamed of ourselves that many of our communities have been here 30/40yrs yet still achieved so little..
