I ve seen summeras work on my cousin and she looked horrible. I know girls who got makeup done by seher and theres good & bad reviews both for her.
i think her work is good if you have nice eyes already. otherwise you are taking a chance.
I recently decided not to go with Summera anymore for my bridal makeup. It took me three/four months to get something in the diary ..haha not exaggerating! I must have followed up at least five times after every email I sent her. Tried calling her but it goes to voicemail every time. Finally, I get some information from her and I am totally over the moon, but then she goes MIA again. It occurred to me that I am going to be completely s*****d if she disappears on my big day. Too risky!
Could I please ask you all if you have heard of Huma's Bridals? She was recommended by a friend but I can't find any reviews for her online. Grateful if you could share what you know or your experiences with her work.
I was at this last Suhaag wedding show for my makeup artist hunt, where I saw some of huma bridals work. Honestly speaking, i wouldn't waste my money with her.
Summera did my cousins makeup, and it was NOT impressive. she can only do "one type of makeup look", which doesn't suit us all.
noreen's makeup (xpressions) is too tacky i think.
I also tried seher for a party makeup last year, but i just wasn't satisfied with what she did.
I just got married last month, and It was my dream to try out different bridal makeup artists for my big days. (engagement, nikah, mehndi, shaadi & walima)
i know it sounds a bit crazy, but I went to different makeup artists for all of my days without trials... hehe
I booked shirley for my wedding & walima day just because everyone said I would be safe. naila for my nikah and hafsa for my engagement. They were all good, but amongst them, Hafsas work stood out the most in pictures.
I had not heard much about Pakeeza I booked my mehndi makeup with her. And let me tell you, the most compliments I received, were on my mehndi day. She really works with you to bring out your true beauty and charm. My husband & mom loved my mehndi look the best and my mom is already looking to book "only her" for my sisters wedding. She truly brought out the best of my features. I was totally satisfied and i couldn't believe I could look so good. Her work is not only good in pictures but amaaazing in person ... and no exaggeration :).

Two of my friends got married last year back to back, one was a Shirley bride and the other chose Angell and honestly Shirley to me I overrated. I feel like she does the same look for her brides. My other friend who went with Angell was so happy. She had her booked for 3 days (Mehndi, Nikkah-Reception, Valima) and all three days not only did she look gorgeous, but the makeup was also different. I would recommend Angell Liu.
I dunno- my SIL had two completely different looks for both days, and what she did for my cousin was entirely different from any bridal look I've seen- both hair and makeup. I think a lot depends on what the bride asks for and is open to. Maybe these brides wanted to play it safe and be typical. Nothing wrong with that but then you can't complain you look like everyone else. But I've also said it before here and I do love Shobhana from Amplified Soul. She's a master contourer and MUA and does hair very well too- But she's definitely more contemporary.
After searching all the makeup artist in Toronto . I ended up booking with naila tausif so far whatever i have experienced with her is awesome.plus recently seen her work i m totally big fan of her…cant wait for my wedding

I'm honestly amazed that you were even able to get in contact with her. That being said, I think I wouldn't want to go with a MUA that's so unresponsive...it's actually very risky!

I have booked Shobana for my wedding and I am hoping she does wonders while keeping it modern. From her pictures it does seem like she brings out the best features without it looking like we are wearing too much makeup, which is what I would like.
Good luck with Naila. I contacted her too for my Friday wedding, she said she was busy all day and could only take me at 5:30 in the evening. Which bride starts getting ready that late? My point being, she seems to be a very busy artist(clearly because her work is good). Personally I wouldnt spend so much money if I wasnt getting the makeup artist’s undivided attention. Seems like she does numerous brides together at her salon.

Multiple people suggested Huma's Bridals to me. She responded quickly and seems very nice. She quoted me hair+makeup+dressing = $400. Extra for travelling. It was down to her and Shobana and I chose the latter(as per suggestions from friends) as I wanted a more modern and sleek look, and Huma does very traditional and typical Pakistani bride look. Beautiful nevertheless.

lol I had the same problem - my fiance and I were trying to book her for photography/videography + me for makeup possibly. Their loss though
Effkay......I was with Naila 2 weeks ago with bride. we r all 6 bridesmaids along with bride. She gave us full attention, We were totally impressed by her professionalism and great work too. What we have seen over there is she took one bride at a time after us she had more brides...She gave one on one attention to brides. I booked Maggie Wu for both my wedding and valima make up, but wanted to show you a blog post that I read, which I found quite inspiring for girls looking for make up artists in Toronto.
I've used both Maggie and Naila. Maggie did a phenomenal job for my rukhsati day, very traditional. I used Naila for my valima. With Naila she insisted I use dark glittery makeup for the eyes, whereas I didn't want that and my sister in law convinced her otherwise. I found with her I had to give her lots of direction, the finished eye makeup was wonderful nonetheless, once she understood what i wanted. But I found the hair wasn't that great with Naila. Naila really pushed her airbrush makeup. At the end I think you are in better hands with Shirley's team in terms of whole experience.*
I had hafsa for engagement makeup and tbh it was decent. But I wouldn't use her for bridal makeup.*
I used Ruchika Verma of le sonne bridal for my Mehndi and she was great too, she is a miracle worker with hair! She is expensive but totally worth it. Everyone still remembers my Mehndi hair 2 years ltr!

Hello!im looking for a makeup artist that does pakistani kind of bridal makeup. Shirley wu is beyond my budget. I'm Considering Seher Sultan, Naila Tausif and Masudaface. Has anybody seen their work or had experience with them. Please share ASAP. Thanks.
^ isn't seher sultan in the same price range as shirley? at least this is what i've heard. I think her makeup looks better in photos than in real life. i've seen a bride where she did a good job but another on which she did a not so good job.. so i would consider her a bit risky unless you get a trial done with her
Hey everyone, I have a personal dilemma for the bridal make up. I originally got caught up in the hype related to Shirley Wu and booked her after my date was fixed. Recently however I am liking Maggie and Jenny’s make up and hairstyles better. I am hesitant to make the change to my mua in case Shirley gets offended. Any advice would be appreciated!

After getting married now finally i got a time to let other people know about my experience :)
I had a amazing experience with Naila Tausif. She did such a fantastic job on my hair and makeup for my wedding days. I was so impressed with the level of service she offered to us. I will never forget her incredible kindness and suggestions for my special day. Naila Tausif is amazing! I had a lot of compliments on my hair and make-up all three days. I was so happy to have her as my wedding make-up artist. She went above and beyond to make our days extra special and I thank her from the bottom of my heart! My mom my bridesmaids were also happy for party makeup and hair they got .My mom loved my airbrush makeup on mahndi after seeing that they all got airbrush makeup J on wedding and reception dayJ
Not only was my make-up flawless (I loved what she did with my eyes). I will have no issues in recommending Naila Tausif to any future brides. She is brilliant and made me feel very relaxed. I cannot tell you how happy I was to have Naila for my makeover. She has a very calming way and she even relaxed me while I was getting ready!
I got pre wedding spa package with her too and that was amazing too.
I will highly recommend everybody start facial asap if you are getting married soon i saw a huge difference after getting facial done from her. Loved her all the services whatever she is offering i got bridal facial,Body polish, waxing etc.....
