Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

She doesn't anymore from what I understand. I got married in June (this year) and she DID travel to me - but that's probably because I booked her over a year before my wedding. However, my sister is getting married next year and she does not travel anymore during peak season. ESPECIALLY if you don't live in Mississauga. I think for Mississauga brides she will come to your house if you're getting ready at odd hours (4am and stuff). Not 100% sure about the latter though

She pretty much does ALOT of brides in a day and I think prefers salon because she can get more brides ready (less wasted time in traveling and her assistants can help with the prep)

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

But yeah, I agree. I'd want her to come to my place if I was spending such a big sum...

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

^ i think shirley can command what she wants at this point. she's so popular and does so many brides, i think if you insisted she travel to you, she'd probably ask you to find another MUA :/

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

Yeah it's true :P I've become quite well acquanted with her husband and I know she wouldn't travel. As much as I'd want her to come to me, I'd still rather book her than someone else! lol
Even though Shirley won't come to our house, my sister still booked her... wouldn't have it any other way :)

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

Ok this is wierd... I called yesterday to ask and the guy said she will travel. It may have something to do with the fact that I have like 6 girls who will get ready with me and get their makeup and hair done though.

Also have any of you guys used the bridal trial for another event? I was thinking of getting the trial done for my engagement party.

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

shirley always travels.. it just costs extra. you can even tell by her recent bride's "getting ready shots" that shirley got them ready at their home

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

I got married in March 2011, and Shirley came to my house. But I got married in the off season, and I lived down the street from her Markham salon.

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

Does anyone have any reviews for amplified soul make up and Noor Artistry. I'm getting married in June 2013 and need to book a mua ASAP ... Thanks :)

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

I've worked with Shobhana from amplified soul and I can't say enough good things about her. Not only is she an absolute sweetheart, she's also a fantastic MUA and does hair beautifully. I've seen her work in person and it is flawless. I highly recommend you book her for a trial. Noor is also a lovely girl and knows her stuff. I don't think you could go wrong with either, honestly. Book trials and see whom you prefer!

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

Who would you prefer Amp Soul or Shirley Wu? I'm gonna book one of these for my Mehndi and Reception next year I just don't know which... I could do one of each maybe..

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

Amplified Soul, but its a purely personal preference. Shirley is great too and I'd say they're both on par when it comes to their skill sets.

Oh, and Noor actually posts here on GS as NoorArtistry. Drop her a line and see if she's available for a trial :)

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

I had my makeup done by Seher, from Seher Studio. She is very good! I recommend her!

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

My wedding is in Sept 2013 Inshallah and I still haven't booked my MUA :(
I've contacted Shirley and Naila Tausif but I feel none of them want to give their rates through phone or email. :(

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

shirley is usually good with giving rates over the phone/email. well when i got married last july and i planned my wedding from outside toronto she was pretty good with it. anyways i dont know if it helps but last july her rates were: $450/day (bridal make up) + $100 (for airbrush if u wanted it) - these rates are for if you go to her salon to get ready and i believe if she comes to your house its an extra $100 but in the summer she doesn't go to peoples houses but in september you'd have to ask her as i am not sure. i had her do my make up for both the baraat and the reception and i got airbrush for both days as it was summer and we had outdoor photoshoots and i was afraid i'd melt. airbrush was awesome!! on my wedding day it was superrrr hot and i did melt but i went back and she did the touch up all over again and was soooo awesome about it. my make up on both days was amazing and she gave me a different look on both days so you dont have to worry abt having the same look if the same person does the make up both days. personally i love the kind of person she is :) like i said these rates were for july 2012 i dont know how much they have changed since then :/

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

Shirley is booked for that day :( :(
But her sister Jenny is available, has anyone seen or got their makeup done from Jenny? I don't know if I should book her since I haven't seen her makeup :(

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

^ Quite a few brides get shirley's other sister, maggie, to do their makeup.. her brides look equally stunning. im sure jenny will be no different. you can ask to see her portfolio if you have any doubts. My sister had maggie do her wedding hair and makeup and she did an amazing job! All of their staff are so nice and professional.. I had my makeup done by their sister-in-law Riffat and I would even book her for my wedding day if i had to.

Noor Artistry did mine, love her! She's a member here I think.
