Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

I'd appreciate any info re Wania also! Anyone who's used her services have any feedback re her? Her portfolio online looks good.

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

I had a bad experience with Wania. She was really nice and very easy to talk to, but the way she did my eye makeup for my trial was beyond bad. Also, the makeup looked caked on by time I got home (one hour after the trial). To be fair, she had asked me to show her what makeup style I liked, and I showed her a pic of a girl with smokey eyes. But while I meant the blending of the colors, maybe she thought I meant the same exact look? Either way it looked horrible

I did read a positive review of her on here somewhere so it might just be me. Do a trial before booking

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

Yikes... that worries me! I met her for a consultation and she's such a delight. Very friendly. She showed me some good photos on her camera, so I'm considering her for a trial. I really don't want to go through the hassle of several trials... Wania is the first MUA I have met with. I suppose I should meet a few more before booking trials. I was also interested in Fero, but she's all the way in Ajax... way out too out there!

I'm not considering Shirley... no doubt she's done some great work, but I've seen some scary awful looking brides by her too, so I can't convince myself it's worth the price tag.

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

A squared - what other make up artists are you considering? Do let us know if you have a trial with Wania!

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

I will be honest. I have yet to see a food MUA. i've seen shirlys brides, wanias fb, and pinkys and hafsa the mua, but i feel like all of their brides look like theyve been done by a amateur artist. I dont mean to be mean, Im just critical. meh.

Nothing can compare to pakistani muas like allenora and others. I wish we had a someone who did something even similar to those people.

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

Anyone seen brides by Paali? She's located in Brampton - one of my Indian friends had her for her wedding and I thought she was OK. I wanted to see if anyone else knows of her work?

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

With Paali try her airbrush trial. She can be hit or miss. For my friend she over did it and for a cousin she did a really good job. Did you try Jannel?

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

I have contacted Wania, Angell, Fero, Noor, and Hafsa. All in the same price range, not a huge diff in price. I've only met with Wania so far though... seems like such an effort to meet everyone! But I really should. I actually recommend that everyone do that even before doing a trial. Make sure you like the girl you are working with, and more importantly make sure you like her style! MUA's that look like clowns are going to make you look like a clown too!

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

Have you tried Amplified Soul? I've seen several pictures of real brides and they've always looked beautiful.
I'm considering them for my wedding, but have yet to contact them for rates.

Has anyone tried amplified soul? If so, i would love to hear about your experience!

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

Hello,
I was having a hard time deciding who to go for mua as well, and instead of spending 50 - 100$ on each trial for a makeup artist, i booked angell..i have seen her work and 2 of my friends got their makeup done from here.

She is very good in listening and shes cheaper than shirley. Also shirley was going to charge for 50$ extra for a 2 min drive from her salon to my house..

so i booked angell for both days..

You could try huma bridals..shes good as well...i heard fero is good and noor artistry, saw some of her work..i liked it...

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

Please give me some feed-back for the ladies you've got your trail done from. I've contacted Wania, but she is gone to England so maybe I can arrange something with her next week when she returns. My first choice was Sherley but people convinced me that I can find a different artist with a lower price (Shierly said $500 for bridal). I also contacted a girl named Sehar Sultan (Sehar studio) Her make-up look nice as well, she did the models for Kismet Magazine and I saw her portfolio at the Kismet Show, except she also said she charges $500.

I'd like to check out Jannel and Angell, not too sure about Hafsa lady. Website wasn't impressive.

Today I'm going for a trail to Huma Bridals and hopefully next week I'll meet with Wania. Wish me luck

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

Angell's is great. I had her do my shaadi and walima makeup. She does an amazing job and uses airbrush foundation which gives such a lovely polished look!

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

So an update on Wania... she did a pretty good job with the make up. She did a great job on the eyes, even though I didn't really like it cause it was a lot more make up than I'm used to wearing, but she did a good job - very modern and dramatic look. BUT the make up completely fell apart after a few hours! I left it on for 8hrs, after 2hrs it was still good but there were creases, after 4hrs the base was spotty and really starting to show plus the colour became much darker (she doesn't use MAC for base though), after 6hrs I was starting to look scary the black around my eyes was smudging, after 8hrs it was a complete disaster.

I pretty much didn't do anything but stay at home after the trial and started to fall apart after 4hrs. On the day of the wedding, I'll be running around getting pictures and getting to the hall on time and will probably have my make up on for at least 4hrs before my entrance and the make up didn't last! And by the way she airbrushed half of my face and after 4hrs both looked the same, the airbrushed side did not stay smooth.

I don't know if it's her make up or if this happens with everyone cause so much gets put on I guess it's going to start looking like a mess when your natural oils and sweat are mixing in throughout the day :(

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

^ seriously?? great, another thing to freak out about!
I plan to get my make-up done a lot earlier, like day time so there is time for pictures etc. I can't handle make-up falling apart on me

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

I know! It's so stressful to think that I might look like a drag queen at my wedding!

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

how much did she charge for trail? also do you plan to do anywhere else for trails? let me know :)

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

I went for a trail but it was a waste because I don't have my dupatta or jewls, so to me it just looked too much. I would know how it would work if I have my dupata atleast to see the outcome

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

It was $40... make up only. I think I'm going to try Fero next, after that I'm canceling the wedding! ;)

If you don't have your bridal dupatta or jewels, just take any dupatta and jewels - at least you have some idea. Wania had a whole jewelery set and dupatta there for me to try on to see the whole look, tikka and jhoomer too.

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

I used Xpressions- Amber and Ruby and they were good. They use airbrush make-up and everyone liked the make-up. They aren't very popular with Pakistanis but A LOT of Indians use them.

On a side note, I like Farhana Baig's work. Too bad she's based in S. Cali.

Re: Paki Bridal Make-up in Toronto

My conclusion is, if my make-up looks bad, i'll look bad!!
I've seen brides whose outfits were nothing special but because of the make-up they looked nice.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh runs in circles
