Re: paki bridal make-up in toronto?
You still looked gorgeous, nevertheless. I think everything from your outfit/jewlery to makeup/hair was perfect!
Re: paki bridal make-up in toronto?
thanks hon! :) i guess every bride will have their small little regrets on things that weren't perfect. i can live with this! my best friend had her entire bag of wedding presents (cash and jewellery) stolen from the wedding... it was worth $15000 US!

Re: paki bridal make-up in toronto?
the worst part is, not only did they never find out who did it, but also nobody offered to replace anything so they basically got no gifts on their wedding! that really bites, man.
Re: paki bridal make-up in toronto?
great makeup artists! at least from their 'folio and they’ve done desi brides - i also love their before’s and after’s…

Thats just terrible! Goodness, things like this just make me so angry, i hope something bad happens to the thieves!
Re: paki bridal make-up in toronto?
Contouring is only any good if you have something wrong with your face - crooked nose or no cheekbones. Otherwise it can make u look a lil odd close up. So dont insist on it. A good makeup artist knows when you need it and when you dont.
Re: paki bridal make-up in toronto?
contouring is there to create the illusion of cheekbones and a thinner nose, not to correct flaws... not having cheekbones is not a flaw! lol
and if you look odd close up, chances are the makeup artist didn't blend properly and/or know what they're doing IMO :)
bridal, or any other makeup, should never look caked on or 1 inch thick up close... a lot of makeup artists get away with by saying oh its for the photography that you need heavy makeup, but i think thats a load of crap. the bride NEEDS to look beautiful in person too and not like she has a pound of makeup on. good makeup artists will make you look gorgeous in person AND in pictures... thats the real skill.
Re: paki bridal make-up in toronto?

Re: paki bridal make-up in toronto?
Hi I'm new on the forum! I'm getting married in March so I need some info ASAP!
Can someone PM me or email me at [EMAIL="[email protected]"][email protected] the contact details for this Zebi or Zaibi? She seems to be the best on this forum. Does anyone know how much she charges?
Also has anyone used Paali?
What about this Haram salon lady? How much does she charge and how do I contact her?
I'm also looking for a photographer if anyone knows someone who doesn't charge 2500-4000 for two events! I am on a budget!!
Re: paki bridal make-up in toronto?
^...Paali... sikh lady in Brampton?
yes, my sister and one of my family friend got ready from her. her makeup is good and charges are pretty reasonable as well. you must go for a trial though and see if u like it or not

Re: paki bridal make-up in toronto?
I hope i get married in Pakistan because all the professionals i have been to such big time. I go to this all white salon who do great natural makeup but i want to look a bit more then just natural on my wedding and all the others well they make a normal person look like churails. the highlighters on browbones is so visible and chamki chamki, the lipstick has to be red or pink even if it doesnt suit some people and the eyeshadow is Allah Allah khair...and all of them charged so much for making girls look like rats :S
Re: paki bridal make-up in toronto?
^ is that really you, teelo? cos you SO don't sound like your normal, level-headed self! confused
i think if you choose a good makeup artist, they'll do a good job, regardless of whether they're desi or white.
i was talking to zebi about this and she told me how tough it is sometimes to do "the right thing" in terms of makup because some clients demand to look fairer and want the bright red lipstick and lots of sparkle even if it doesn't suit them. she was like, i could do the most natural, bridal, gorgeous makeup in the world, but if it makes my client unhappy and if they're constantly fighting me on the look, why would i? my main aim is to have a happy and satisfied client.
i personally think at the end of the day, theres no such thing as bad makeup, theres only clients with unrealistic expectations of what they want. and i think this is why its so important to get along with your makeup artist personally and professionally, and go to consultations and trials and bring pictures of the look you're going for.
i mean, as a makeup artist, i'd expect that if you're being paid for a service, you'd do it to the best of your abilities WITHIN the specs your client gives you, and not overstep their bounds.

This is what I think is a big dilemma abt being a makeup artist, esp if u're just starting out. either your objective is having the client happy even if they look ugly or if you want to build a good reputation of being hte best, you might be labeled as being bossy or *****y. And as for the client, sometimes, it can be the best makeup in the world, but its not what you wanted, and you don't feel comfortable or happy with it which in turn will make u look bad..
So yeah, its a dilemma :p
