Pakhtuns

I had a look too. Nice to see the Punjabis described as Mongolian thugs :k:

Still I wouldn’t take those people as representatives of Pakhtuns as a whole. Internet’s full of idiots who are estranged from real life.

I had the pleasure of paying a visit to pashto.org. It was an "interesting" experience. The superiority complex is alive.

Well good for you, and plz DO NOT mention this crap again. I do not want it to get worst than this.

Kid, don't act up to much with me. I'll mention whatever I feel like mentioning. Pashto.org has more delusional people then even gupshup's religion forum. And I didn't think that was posible.

You know the difference then, we are more into Islam when we are not interfered by historical matters.

You're more into Islam by following pre islamic tribal traditions? How islamic is it for muslim tribes to fight each other on the drop of a pakol?

Yes, coz those traditions are attached to us in blood, we are to follow them till the day of dome. And here it's got nothing to do with our other muslim brothers, it's only been done with Afghans themselves so never with outsider MUSLIM brother.

i am better wanna be pakhtuns than all of u originals combined :snooty:

Well you wouldn't be the first wannabe that's for sure.

So, it's ok to do non-Islamic practices if you do it among your own ethnic group? I wonder if Allah will agree with you as well.

And for the life of me I can't understand why anyone would falsely claim to be a pashtun or any other ethnic group not their own.

innit man if some1 is claiming Pashtun ancestry chances are they are telling the truth, why would someone pretend to be sumfin their not? Get real I mean out of all the ethnicities in the world why the fock would someone claim to be a pathan when they are not, pathans like imran khan, shahid afridi and a few others are cool but most people don’t think of them they think of a fierce looking 50 year old who beats the crap out of his wife and kids. If someone going2 pretend they’d pretend to be Persian or Arab or something cool.

People say our tribe is originally pathan so we call ourselves pathan but whenever I introduce myself to peeps they say but you guys sell ur women and stuff and I’m like no mate I’m a hindko pathan we’re not like them.

dis bruva in the other thread told me dat new ethnicities form all the time and Hindko speakers have become a separate ethnicity even if our paternal ancestors were pathan, so that’s what I’m gonna call myself Hindkoan/Hindkowaan, cant assed explaing to ppl again and again how we don’t beat up our wives and ppl for no reason and why i dont speak pushtoe when i'm a pathan.

Pashtuns sell their women? Isn't that a racist generalization?

NO, but its the way we have brought up so no chance of losing these traditions, and actually in most cases our tradition is the closest to ISLAM. Well Allah (J) has created it so he doesn't want it to be changed then you can't do anything about it, can you?

I don't get your second paragrapgh, what do you mean by that? Are you pointing at me that i am not a Pashtun or what?

You don’t know nothing about my race bro, nowt rong wid us, we’re not too strict and living in the dark ages like some ppl but we’re not too bayghayrat either like others, we have the perfect balance in our society.

It's called Haq-Mehr, when Ali (ra) wanted to marry the daughter of Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) he sold his sheild and sword, took that sum and gave the Prophet the required Haq-Mehr. It is a Muslim practice, although you wouldn't know, since you might and your "friends" might practice the Hindu tradition of "dahaij" which is common all over Pakistan even in areas that are Pakhtun dominated.

Haq-Mehr is for the bride not for her dad and it's not ridiculously high.

Yeah well no one is perfect.

Heard of "dahaij" stories? It is all about giving the groom gifts, though in reality it is also taken advantage of.

Ashti

Do you want to know what Hindko Pathans are famous for? ;- )

Try visiting Texla, Dabagari Bazar in Peshawar, Jolagano Bazar in Kohat, and the many cadets colleges around Bannu and Kohat.

Ohhh pleeeeeeeeeeez man...this is comming from you? Entire Pakistan doesn't want anything to do with Hindustan or India. Maybe today the educated class has realized that all that is nothing but bull but the truth is that every one in Pakistan will either tell you that they are decendents of Afghan, Iranian, Turku, or Arab. For some it is true but for many it is not.

The answer is simple, the long lasting influnce of the Hindu cast system. This is why we had an upper tribe in Punjab recenlty raped a 17 year old Quran-e-Hafiz because her brother was in cahookz with a girl from there tribe. The decesion was made by the girls own tribe.

I have seen tones of arguments and fights between Mujahirs and Punjabis over this issue. The educated one are senseble though the majority really gets offened if you say a single word about their Indian roots. I'll give you another one, why on earth are the missiles called Ghori, Suri, and Abdali? Why not Ranjit, Hanuman, and Krishna? I dont see nothing wrong with that.

It is all about being more Muslim, being more central asain, being more Arab. And less as possible as a an Indian.

The Pakhtuns still have names that are not Arab or from Islamic culture, name me a few names that are Hindu/Indian by origin used by Pakistanis?

I didn't ask you too lose these traditions. I don't care one way or the other, but to falsely claim pashtun traditions as descended from Allah is just a bold faced lie. Allah also made the arabs as barbaric tribals before islam came. So does it mean He didn't what them to change? Some would say they still live in jahilah.

I am just amazed at the hypocrisy of afghans who considre themselves superior to the "hindunized" mohajirs etc., when they follow the same or more non islamic traditions then we do.

The second paragraph was not meant for you.
