One-day international, Wellington: New Zealand v Pakistan - match starts 0200 GMT Saturday
Pakistan are looking to raise their game in an attempt to end their New Zealand tour on a high note.
Having won the Test series 1-0, they have been second best in the one-dayers and the win in Napier gave New Zealand overall victory with a game to spare.
They will be without seamer Daryl Tuffey, who has a knee problem.
“We’ve got a big series coming up against South Africa and then we’re off to England, so it’s good he gets a rest now,” said skipper Stephen Fleming.
“Losing him is a great luxury we have allowed ourselves by winning [the series] in four games.”
Despite Tuffey’s absence, Fleming insists his side will not ease up with a recent 5-0 whitewash in Pakistan still fresh in their memories.
“We ended on the right side of it in Napier, but we want to stamp some authority on the series and 4-1 would be a good way to do it,” he said.
“You see great teams around the world, particularly Australia, who struggle when a series is already won. We’re in new territory in some ways, but it’s good to be on the right side.”
Pakistan will be looking for an improvement from their top order.
After four successive century opening stands in the home series, the highest partnership by openers Yasir Hameed and Imran Farhat on New Zealand soil was 50 in Christchurch.
Concern about their batting was expressed by skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq following the eight-wicket loss in Napier.
“Our shot selection was very bad and the New Zealand bowlers were bowling on the right length,” he said.
