You can't always win in a cricket game, you win some you lose some. Pakistan didn't play well this summer. England played much better. Accept the fact. Statements like labelling a team over rated is plain stupidity. This team has performed wonderfully well during the last 2 years, thats why they are always regarded as a team in contention for number 2 spot in test and ODI cricket. This is a big achievement and anyone denying this needs to grow up.

So any1 wondering what the hell is wrong with shubby again? Injury after injury, he shud just retire already if he can't play cricket for at least a month...plays half a series...and gets injured...half a series...injured.

srilanka at that time did nt have a few of their main players like vaas and others,i dont think it would ve been that easy otherwise.pakistan lost to india 4-1 prior to that.I still think pakistan is a far better test side than one day side contrary to what people think

Pakistan did play well in past year or two....lately either we r complacent, tired, maybe the techniques r just not good enuff as shown in test matches and when batting first under pressure if there is such a pressure batting first or maybe we r just in horrible form...we need to rectify that very quickly b4 world cup, not sure but i don't think we have many matches to try and test players in the opening spot, and to find a good replacement bowler for Rana. Afridi needs to also get his act together, or he shud be told that he is now a ODI specialist spinner.

It was a pretty determined effort in the end sparked by Afridi's brilliant over. We could have won it but we lacked a wicket taker after Asif.
Batting wise, it seems Inzi and Bob are confused how to approach batting first. It was a stupid move to sacrifice Afridi in the first match and they repeated it again. He is well suited batting down the order. Rana was disappointing again and its time that he is given a rest and enough time to be at his best again. I am one of vocal critics of Rao but he seemd okay today without being extra special. Still not better than Gul/Rana.

well to me i still think Inzamams captaincy was very disappointing in these last couple of game.i dont think it would've been that easy for england in the 2nd last match if spinners were brought on earlier in the second innings,instead inzamam kept bowling with rana and razzaq who went for runs and allowed england to build a partnership before the spinner came on.u gotta be creative especially in one day matches inzamam is not creative at all.compare his captaincy to someone like jaywardene whos been brilliant recently

desidudecool: Inzi made the mistake of batting first in the 4th ODI...remember Pak v Ind series in Pak...Inzi won toss in 2nd match and batted first...lost the match...lost the tosses in the rest and lost...same circumstances here, you win toss, you bowl...he didn't, and the rest every1 knows.

After seeing Afridi instigated collapses for 6/7 years at the top of the order, bringing him back, acknowledging that he himself likes to bat down the order, acknowledging that we need stability up in the order, we decide to try Afridi option again. It weakens our late-order-hitting ability, and makes our top order mercurial.
The first time we tried this, we ended up discarding Afridi. I guess we'll continue doing it until he's discarded again.
I am an Inzi/Woolmer defender and apologizer, but i just can't figure out what they were thinking today. Ooh ooh, we are having problems getting to 30th over without many wickets lost, so what's the solution: Send Afridi up the order.
Funny thing is, EVEN IF HE HAD SUCCEEDED and gotten 50 odd from 25 balls, he still would have gotten out in 5-10 overs, which would have inevitably followed by a 'consolidation' and slow down of the run rate, and after 40 overs, we would have reached the same score as we might have made without AFridi batting up the order, and not have him available for the last 10.
He's not going to score 100 off 37 everytime he comes out. That's the only advantage big enough to justify him coming up the order. 35 runs in 20 balls is VERY HELPFUL in last 10, but NOT HELPFUL AT ALL at the beginning of the innigns: cuz you get 35 runs but you LOSE A WICKET in 5-10 overs!

One bad over cost the game other wise good bowling pakistan. Everyone deserves a chance to bowl but not bowl like rana did. IF rana did not bowl that over because a light bulb came to inzy who knows what could of happend but Well Played sajid and yardy. Congratz to England. 2-2. Champions Trophy here we come.
Now I am glad rana did not play the tests
If you count the twenty20 game and the one that was rained off in cardiff which pakistan looked strong in the series would have been 4-2!

Just got back form the ground. Will post later on. Good match, Pakistan's fight back was good and why oh why did we play Rana, why wasn't Gul played. I am not saying it after the event, I said it yesterday.

Rao without performing was able to participate in this tour and played as well. I won't be surprise to see him playing in champions trophy after today's performance.

Bhoth bechainee sey aapka post ka inthizar rahega.....Rana was always an average players, but extremely hard working and committed. I fault team management for playing a rusty player when they cud have played in form Gul.
Then again, this management has always deomonstrated a lack of vision, an inability to recognize their mistakes, stubborness to the extent being obstinate.
